Oh man this is going to be a long list. There's 1,800+ games for the PS2, even if only 10% of them are great and not re-released on PS3, that's still 180 games.

Dragon Quest VIII is amazing. Might be the best RPG on the console, maybe not my favorite, but it's an all around great, classic styled RPG filled with content and has a lot of polish.

You can go by the metascores, though of course plenty of games in the 70-80% region are pretty good. It doesn't cover JPN-only games either.
