I know. And I'm a friggin Eagle Scout. I have my wife to thank for talking me into making smores over our fire pit. I thought the amount of chocolate that goes into a smore was absurd until I had one.indecks wrote:You're KILLING me Smalls!Luke wrote:It wasn't until I was in my late late 20's that I had a smore.dsheinem wrote: smores
And I'm not a fan of sweets, and when I do eat sweets it is usually something like Fannie May as I'm a food snob, but smores with Hershey chocolate is amazing. They should be an option at every restaurant.

Nah, its more magical if you make it yourself.Luke wrote:but smores with Hershey chocolate is amazing. They should be an option at every restaurant.
Smile - Making a dent in my emails from my vacation last week
Ticked - Emails gave out on Wednesday and I apparently filled both my inbox and the overflow (even with an out of office up). So Ive been going at it for two solid hours now and I am still in mid last week - people just dont understand if I am not here, I am not working.

Uno: Nothing like sitting over a fire and making smores yourself, but I would order a gourmet smore of dining out.
Dos: Hope you enjoyed your vacation.
Tres: Nothing like getting back from a vacation and opening your inbox. "Inbox is loading......." *Holeeeeee!* And I'll never understand that when I auto reply with "I will be out of the office from x to x, and if you need immediate assistance please contact x" and people still send multiple emails. Never fails.

Uno: Do it yourself. Make some Graham Crackers and Marshmallows and get some Godiva Chocolate. Though if you would prefer, Ive been told that PuffPlush are the best marshmallows you can buy. Or you could just get these boys:Luke wrote:fastbilly1 wrote:Nah, its more magical if you make it yourself.Luke wrote:but smores with Hershey chocolate is amazing. But you would have to silverturtle the bad boy.
Dos: Always, it is vacation after all. My mothers side extended family rent a block of condos for a week on the beach. All 70+ of us just meandered around doing beach things, and playing NES games. Also I started my vacation with buying an Astro City...
Tres: Since most of it was actually touched on by my counterparts, it is not as bad as I thought. I still plan on milking it until atleast lunch.

Last time this came up, I think there are five Eagles that post regularly. Myself included.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Really? Me too!Luke wrote: I know. And I'm a friggin Eagle Scout.

Yup. Explains why I'm such a Dudley Do-Right.BoneSnapDeez wrote: Really? Me too!
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law:
To help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
My Eagle project was pretty lame though. I painted a few hundred music stands for County Band classes. My Father was a den master, and I drank Bobcat Blood at a pretty young age. When we moved to NC, everything changed. It got boring and way too easy. Kids would rather try and sneak a smoke than do scout stuff.
That aside, the scout program (albeit a tad expensive) is awesome and from day one I have made sure to do at least one good deed a day. Hopefully one day I'll have a son I can enroll in the scouts.

So onto non BSA discussion.
Smiled - My mother decided she wanted to see the hubbub of the Astro City cabinet I bought (which is currently in her house), discovered that it plays Mahjong, and apparently spent a good bit of this morning playing it. Thats right, my mother plays Taiwanese Mahjong PGM games, hardcore.
Ticked - Just took a call from my Director giving me a hardtime about my out of office message. Because of this I talked to my Boss who apparently did not know I was out of office for the entire week, even though it was in his Outlook and I brought it up at the weekly meeting for the last two months. Its not a real ticked, just a big annoyance that no one listens.
Smiled - Last night my wife decided she wanted to start working on big projects at the house, so our screen porch had its carpet and plywood flooring removed and is now a nice shade of light slate gray. It will get a second coat tonight and be ready for furniture tomorrow (which we will be buying down the road when things are on sale). Pictures soon - Migrating from Photobucket to Picasa. Tonight will be finally getting things on to the book cases we have anchored to the wall and cleaning up the pc area.

Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
A huuge part of the reason I prefer the older vehicles has to do with price. I can find a kick ass car for $4500 pretty easy, but not anything in the super safe range. If I was that worried about it, I'd strip an older car and death-proof it- full roll cage, racing style seatbelts, etc. If I do crash, which, apparently I will, I'd rather be surrounded by steel than plastic and fiberglass. I also would prefer if there's a chance of saving my vehicle if I crashed it. My sister rolled two early 2000's trucks, and completely totaled them both. On the other hand, my dad rolled a 70's F150, we rolled it back on the wheels and drove it home.Blu wrote: I know it was your preference, but those 90's cars are going to rust out, have little in the area of modern-day safety, become less reliable, and unless you're a real top-notch gearhead, are going to cause you grief on the upkeep.
If you want a truck, get a truck. But, evaluate your motivations in a decision: is it pressure to fit in or melding your interests on the bequest of friends or family? If yes, it's only going to confuse you years down the road and possibly lead to regret over your decisionmaking. Figure out what you want, assert your interests when you feel like you're being challenged, and don't feel guilty about it when you're pressured. Be your own person, mate.
Be my own person? People don't like me.... Anyways though, I want the advantages of a truck, but then again, I've always loved classic cars. My decision is partly swayed though because I know a ton of people who hate riding in cars, and I know some who flat out refuse to do it. (But motorcycles are okay!
