January-June (the first 50)
Commander Keen Episode 1: Marooned on Mars - PC
DLC Quest - PC
Live Freemium or Die - PC
Borderlands 2: Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt - PC *new*
Marvel vs Capcom 3 - - PS3 *new*
Borderlands 2: Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep - PC *new*

TOTAL: 56

Games Beaten: 2012 2011 2010

So I spent like 10 1/2 hours playing Borderlands 2 today  Sir Hammerlock's DLC is my least favorite of the packs released thus far, but Tiny Tina's is easily my favorite. The former is maybe 2-3 hours long (including many of the sidequests), Tiny Tina's DLC is 6-8 or more to get through the campaign (which makes it longer than most FPS titles these days).

I beat MvC3 because EVO is on today and I wanted to put on a fighter I can 1cc and feel somewhat competent at. So I did.

1. Borderlands 2- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
2. God of War: Ascension- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
3. Actraiser- SNES
4. Borderlands- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
5. Super Castlevania IV- SNES
6. Final Fantasy VII- PS1/PSN
7. Super Metroid- SNES
8. The Last of Us- PS3

I am still working on the platinum trophy for The Last of Us, but I did beat the main storyline. I've gushed enough about this game, so there's not much else I can say. I will say that I loved the ending and it was perhaps my favorite part of the whole game. I think the game may have had an more emotional impact on me since I'm the father of 2 daughters. I really could feel for Joel.

The game is in my Top 5 of All Time and it's easily the best game I've played on PS3.

Nothing but 150cc for me, and bring on the Star Level and Rainbow road any day. Koopa Troopa is my go to guy, and rarely disappoints.

When Super Mario World was released, I remember playing the game for days, maybe weeks before I could beat it with a 90 or above average. Two days of around playing for three hours did it this time. Star road and all that stuff too.

World was a lot, lot easier than SMB.3. Most of that is probably I remember every puzzle and hidden entrances in the game. That, and I had something like twenty-four lives just at the end of level one.

If using blue yoshi is cheating, I cheated a lot.

37. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Wii *NEW*
38. StreetPass Battle 3DS eShop *NEW*

Bubble Bobble, Loco Roco and Metroid Prime 3 Corruption were beaten for the summer game challenge, and I wrote more about them there. The quick summary: Bubble Bobble is fun but sometimes unfair, Loco Roco is quirky and unique but gets repetitive quickly, Prime 3 is more of the same, it's excellent, but 2D Metroid is still better.

The two StreetPass games were from the recent update to 3DS Mii Plaza. Although the games are a pay to play, I feel that these two (particularly StreetPass Squad) are worth the cost, along with one of the other games called StreetPass Mansion. StreetPass Garden isn't so hot though, but buying all 4 is cheaper than buying 3 anyway, so why not get them all?

StreetPass Squad (Mii Force in the US) is a 15 level shmup where streetpassed characters (or mercenaries hired through play coins) are equipped to your ship as weapons. The colour of the characters top determines what type of weapon they use, and they can be equipped to one of 4 weapon slots on your ship to shoot forwards, backwards, or diagonally forwards, either up or down. The weapons can also be rotated to shoot in other directions. In addition to up to 4 different weapons, extra pods (you can get up to 10 if you streetpass/hire enough people) can be equipped behind other weapons to power them up to the next level, which each weapon having 3 stages. Each hit you take will cause you to lose one weapon, and losing all weapons causes a game over. The best weapons are probably dark blue (homing missiles shaped like sharks), light green (a continous damage plasma whip that gathers point gems), white (boomeranging saws that destroy enemy projectiles) and orange (laser that shoots through lines of enemies). Each level can be completed pretty easily with a full set of weaponry, but it's not crazy easy, and each level has 3 bonus objectives to complete - getting above a certain point score, finding 5 hidden gems in the stage, or completeing the level with all weapon pods intact (aka a no hit run). These can be pretty challenging, and add a lot of longevity to the game. Definitely a fun little game.

StreetPass Battle (Warrior's Way) is a lot simpler than Squad, but still a lot of fun. The aim is to conquert the world with your army, and the method of increasing your force is my favourite thing aout it. Rather than a streetpass adding that one character to your army, it instead adds their entire Plaza to your army - so not just them, but the total number of people they've streetpassed to date. Sometimes, this adds thousands of peoplke to your army at once. If the streetpassed person also owns the game, they will bring their army with them instead. You can choose to battle it in order to win some of their troops for your own army, or you can offer kind greetings instead if you dont want to risk losing and losing your own troops instead. Sometimes this gives you some troops, but normally not. The actually battle mechanics themselves are disappointing, but keep the game's pace nice and short - it's basically rock paper scissors where you choose one of 3 units to fight. If you get a type advantage, you half the opposing section of the opponents forces number by half, and the unit with the most units after taking this into account win the clash. Win 2 out of 3 clashes with your 3 unit types and you win the battle. Although it's not as good as Squad, I enjoyed this one well enough too. A solid streetpass diversion.

14. Road Rash - Genesis (July 10)
15. *NEW* Road Rash 2 - Genesis (July 18)

Road Rash TR month continues. RR2 is still my favorite of the series, because it's so user-friendly. The menus are easier to navigate, there are many more bikes, the chain weapon is great and there are just so many improvements. I will be starting RR3 in the next day or two.

Call of Juarez:Gunslinger might be the best Western-based game I've ever played. The shooting is fast and fun, the story is well told and interesting, and the game looks great. If this is $10 again before the Steam sale is over, y'all should definitely grab it.

I beat Street Fighter IV for iOS for the first time in a couple of years. Beat my old clear time on the first try, even! I still think this is about as "good as it gets" for touch screen based traditional fighting games...

I've played plenty of Cave games on my phone, too.
