What are you getting from the Steam sale?

Post by RCBH928 »

I searched for such a thread I was surprised I did not find any. If it exists, close this one and point me to the the proper thread.

I want to buy some games but 2008 macbook is not powerful enough to run 99% of what is on there and the other 1% will probably burn the internals of my laptop. I am thinking of buying games now to be future proof!

While we are at it, any idea if a SteamBox is in the making and if it is going to be released? I'd love to have one , a cheap PC for modern gaming. I really do not want to pay $500 for a new one and go through the trouble of assembling it. I wonder if Buying a used PC of 2 years ago will do...

I got Torchlight 2 from the summer sale while it was 75% off, or $5. And I plan on getting Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines whenever it goes at least 50% off. Currently it's only 25% off, lol.

Then there are two games from GOG that I plan to buy (Reus and Rogue Legacy), though they likely aren't going to be on sale.

After that, I'll be all done with PC games. At least until I can get a new computer with a bigger hard drive and some more RAM. But that won't be for a while.

Ive only picked up Dungeons of Dreadmor - since it was like 90% off.

My to buy list is (if they go on sale for a big discount):
Monaco
Rogue Legacy
Red Alert 3
D&D Mystara Collection

I realize that most of those I will have to wait until Christmas to get for under $10, but we shall see. Monaco is on the vote system right now and has a good chance against Natural Selection 2 and Fez.

Thus far about 20 games for about $50. Still not sure how I've done that, given that I've picked up at least several games that were more than $10

I'll post a full list when the sale is over. Still hoping for plenty of things and expecting plenty of other things I wasn't looking for to win me over with low prices.

Picked up the following so far, for $5 and under:

Evoland
Go Home Dinosaurs
GRID
Torchlight 2
The Witcher

Will be purchasing more before the 22nd, mostly looking at Tower Defense games at the moment.

Go Home Dinosaurs is a Tower Defense game, its funny and colorful with alot of pop culture humor thrown in from movies, games, and tv shows, as far as what the defense units you plant down say and stuff.

Also Evoland, it's a really short game, but worth it for under $5 the whole game is a trip through the evolution of rpg's as we know them, the way the game evolves is alot of fun.

If anyone has any recommendations based on what ive bought so far, i welcome them!

My basic computer specs:

GPU: HIS IceQ HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB
Mobo: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
RAM: 8GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 (9-9-9-24-2T)

You mean about Reus and Rogue Legacy? Yeah, I know they're on Steam. But I'm willing to pay a bit more for a game if it means getting it DRM free from GOG.com instead of Steam. If I possible, all of my PC games would be from there and there alone.

So far, Ys I & II, RPG Maker, and Universe Sandbox.

Hoping Remember Me gets a deeper discount than they have on it currently.
