It was a terrible day at the thrifts. Not much at all and what was there was really over-priced.

At the 2nd thrift stop the day I picked up a SNES Turbo Touch 360 controller for $3. I've had one for the Genesis since I was a kid and it's a piece of shit but I think they're kind of cool to look at.

Next stop I got stack of "blah" PS1 games for a total of $2.38 (bundled together) and a Blockbuster PS1 controller for $0.90.

Donald Duck Goin' Quackers (no manual)
Bob the Builder (disk only)
Looney Toons Racing
Croc
Sesame Street Sports
Monopoly (No game)
Breakout
Army Men 3D
Gunship

That was it for the thrifts. Thankfully a flea market find my it worth my time to go out this morning.
I found a dusty as hell box of Atari 2600 stuff at a vendor's area with lots of random crap (usually where you'll find the best deals). I sifted through the box and could tell that it had been in someone's basement/attic/garage for a LONG time but it all looked in pretty good shape. There was a 2600, 19 games, a bunch of paddles and controllers, some manuals, and a Sear Tele-games console/game storage box. I noticed there was no power cord (have one so don't care) and I didn't bother to look at the games but I was going to get it if it was cheap. I asked the guy "how much" and he said $20. I quickly said okay and he gave me a look like "Oh shit, I think that was too low." Anyway, I wish I had taken photos of how filthy everything was before I cleaned it up. Having grown up in the NES/Master System era, I'm not an Atari guy by any means but finding this really made my day. Oddly, I never seem to come across the Atari branded system, usually it's the Sears Tele-games version. Everything cleaned up really well and is in great shape. Also, the games were mostly pristine (minus the dust). Some even still gave glossy labels!, which I have never seen on 2600 carts. Most came with the manual and Sword Quest Earthworld and Yar's Revenge even came with the comic books. There are a bunch of Atari game catalogues too. I love stuff like this and I also really love the artwork on the carts that don't have the plain labels.

Last stop was a comic shop that had a copy of The Jetsons for the NES that I had been eying for a good 10 months. It was more than I wanted to pay for a cart only copy but seeing the price seems to be trending upward on eBay I figured I might as well get it now because I don't think I'll ever see it at that price again.

Earlier in the week I picked up Gate of Thunder 3-in-1 CD for the Turbo Duo for $55 shipped, which is a lot but totally worth it, and an official Atari Lynx power cord in the orig box (which I desperately needed because batteries are expensive) for $20 shipped.

I know this post is a bit long winded but this is my only outlet for my nerdy passion.

I know the box is a little ragged, but for $18.....I didn't mind!! Hit this find at a Buy Backs in our area, along with a slew of boxed N64 games and more SNES boxed. A store we normally dont go into. Maybe we will go more often....

Very nice, that is a great find!

Xbox Cases and Manuals - from Mechblue
Got six cases along with a Halo, Halo2, Riddick, Dead Alive 3 manuals and a couple of covers, thanks Mech! I'll print new covers for Halo and Dead Alive 3 to make those two games close to CIB. I already have Halo 2 Limited Edition, getting the regular edition manual makes a "CIB" with both opposing forces themed manuals.

Mech Assault 2 Limited Edition - $5.95 GamePlay
I discovered this independent Game Store on the way to the Los Angeles Farmers Market. Employee is really helpful, they were having a 2 for 1 sale on Xbox games so picked up a second copy of this game. The collector in me really wanted that double case, I'll keep the game for a backup. Justified since I could bundle another free game with it.

Munchs Oddysee - Free GamePlay
Free with the game above. I have wanting to try out Abe in the 3d perspective and surprised how well it plays. A lttle more platforming, but there is still a lot of puzzle aspect in unlocking gates. A lot of the time the minions I round up have are used to chant gates open. So far I just past the level where Munch takes remote control of a Robot blasting all the baddies, man that is a blast literally!

Medievil II Guide - $4.95 $1.49 GamePlay
Crimson Skies Guide - $8.95 $2.69 GamePlay

GamePlay also had a 70% off sale on game Gude books. Both games a very good so I had to get the matching books. :D

PS2 Game Guide Books - $1.00 Each Piccolos Books
I came across a dollar book store, every book was only a buck! Even huge reference books at a dollar, regret not picking up that Mayo Clinic Doctors reference. There were a few game guides, but none I needed other then these PS2 Cheat Books, perfect size for storing right next to the PS2 console.

No worries removing price stickers. The cover does not need to be ripped, if done the right way.

I love those cheat books. I used to use them all the time when I was younger for the N64 and Gamecube.

Early this morning I was on my way to pick up a friend to carpool to ConnectiCon in Hartford, CT. On the way to her house, I passed by a couple setting up for a yard sale in their front yard. Since I was a few minutes ahead of schedule, I pulled the car over to check out this fresh yard sale.

Sitting on the corner of a table covered in a thick layer of dust and dirt was a Virtual Boy. Included with the complete unit was Mario Tennis and Techno Boxing. I walked out with everything for $20.

At the Con, I meet with an old college friend who is in the process of selling off his NES collection. I picked up for $20 his copy of SMB 3 & Super C.

Picked this stick from a friend of mine for 75 euro yesterday. It's in perfect condition. He threw in the game (mint, complete) for free as a "thank you" for helping him recently with a few things and since I also bought his PS3 off him last week. :D
