Why are people to fucking stupid? :x

So I use the DIY machine at the post office all the time for first class packages to people. Since I go in the evening and Sundays a lot, I hit it when it is out of labels or doing some maintenance cycle pretty often. It's annoying, but shit happens and I still spend way less time than if I was standing in line all the time and I do not function in the morning.

So last night I tried to send a package out. It is small, so I needed the small 1 by 1/2 label the machine spits out, the larger label would be bigger than the package. So I go to post office # 1 and the DIY machine is totally down. I drive the other way to post office #2 and that machine is out of small labels.

So I ran out during lunch today to try and get it done and got stuck in construction waiting for cement trucks to dance into the closed lane while sitting still with people on the way home with rush hour. I get to post office #1 and the machine is still down and someone else was upset about it being down, but the fuckhead wrote a bitchy note on a 4 by 6 Priority label and stuck it on the touchscreen. Way to go you fucking moron, now the screen is ruined and it will probably be a month or two before it gets fixed. :x :x :x

So I still didn't get the package sent and I was late getting back because of the construction.

My best non-lawyer advice (check with professional gamer too):

Walk in to court early and well dressed. Provide the ticket, your license, registration, proof of insurance, and say "I was advised to give you this information, to ask for a dismissal based on my previous driving record, and to shut up". It's worked for me.

And stop speeding you (unless you know you can get away with it, safely).

I almost always speed. Cops usually let me go if I get pulled over, well more like 50/50. I just suck it up and do the defensive driving and get it dismissed.

Pretty sure everyone in America but the 80+ crowd that doesn't need to be on the road in the first place speeds. But there is a big difference between the obnoxious asshole speeder, and the typical 5-8 over speeder.

I've found that it largely depends on the state you are pulled over in though. Luke, for example, down here in the Carolinas the cops don't seem to give a shit about speeding. I got pulled over down here, and all he did was give me a "warning". I've never even heard of that before. My gf got pulled while down here as well and got the same thing, and my stepdad tells me that's just how it is down here. In NY, when you get pulled over you are 100% getting fined (usually a nasty one at that), and points will probably be taken off your license. Court appearance does not matter (with traffic tickets).

It is about half and half here with speeding.

If it is highway patrol, a small town, and/or a speedtrap, your are screwed.

If it is a city cop or just another type of officer on the road and just happens to catch you, they usually pull you over to see if you have warrants or if you are acting suspicious dui/drugs etc...

Heh I have been pulled over at almost every speed trap I know of in the city here and never gotten a ticket. I just say that I forgot about there being a speed trap here. They usually laugh and tell me to have a good day.

Not sure if it helps but it hasn't gotten me yelled at or a ticket yet, I always ask if they are going to show up in court if I fight the ticket any time I get pulled over.
