Sure! I just finished it actually and haven't had time to put my thoughts up on the Beaten thread. It's excellent. It has the feel of like a twin-stick shooter, with a heck of a lot of polish and style. Lots of 80's bright neon and a really cool techno/dance soundtrack. The gameplay is really well done and really precise and you'll feel like a total badass when everything goes right. It's super violent and the story is very confusing, not sure if that would be a turn off or not. Gamerforlife and dsh were huge propenents of this game and you can see some of their thoughts here: http://racketboy.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 4&start=40

Not sure how the Vita screen is too small for Disgaea 3, but to each their own. Do you not like tactical RPGs in general on portables or is it just Disgaea 3? If they ever port Disgaea 4 to the Vita it generally uses larger and higher quality sprites. Would that make things better for you?

It's fantastic. Played it a bit on PC, then all the way through when it released recently on PS3. Definitely in my top 5 of indie games.

The characters were small enough that for me some of them were hard to differentiate. Good game, gonna play when I can stream it to my TV.

So there's this upcoming Walking Dead Vita bundle...

Any word on what exactly the bundle includes or what sorta price it'll be? Will it be a LE system of some kind?

I think I might get a Vita around Black Friday time but if this upcoming bundle is a good value I may fast track my plans a bit.

The 3DS and my recently purchased PSP have gotten me really excited about handhelds again. >_>

I haven't heard anything about it. Or even what The Walking Dead by itself will cost. But I'll certainly be buying it. I've been waiting for this game to come to the Vita for a while. :)

BTW, did anyone post about the three new Vita games coming over from Japan? DanganRonpa, Madou Monogatari (reboot), and Demon Gaze?

I don't think anyone brought them up. DanganRonpa interests me quite a lot. That and the upcoming Ys game are two big reasons for me to get the system. >=]

Yeah, I had fun with it on PC and I am now playing the Vita version. The controls aren't perfect, but it's still playable. I finished ten levels so far, all with A+ ranks and I've racked up a bunch of trophies. When I played the DRM free PC version from GOG, it crashed a lot. The Vita version has been completely stable so far, so I think I am actually enjoying it more on the Vita. Also, the cross save implementation is awesome. It basically merges the Vita save data with the PS 3 save data. So when you sync, it's like the cloud makes a back up that you download when you play on the other platform.

Yeah, Hotline Miami is something of a godsend for me just because I love playing a game where the violence actually feels real. There are no health bars in Hotline Miami. Weapons are actually LETHAL, such a rare thing in video games. Even bosses aren't unrealistically tough. The first boss goes down after two hits from a golf club.

The style is awesome too. The game is basically Drive the Game, for anyone familiar with that movie. It's awesome too. Check it out:

There's something brilliant about how Hotline Miami revels in violence while at the same time offering a subtle commentary on the nature of violence in video games. It celebrates and criticizes at the same time, a game that is both shallow and deep depending on how you look at it.

Another thing I love about Hotline Miami, it caters to any play style. For example, some say it's hard to play on a controller because you can't aim as well as you do with mouse and keyboard. No problem, you can totally rely on melee attacks for most situations if you want. You can actually score tons of points playing that way. Spam guns, or spam melee, the game works either way.

Also, the mask system is brilliant. Masks basically cover your weaknesses. If you can't handle dogs, there's a mask that makes them not attack you. If you suck at combos, there is a mask that extends the window for stringing together combos. My personal favorite mask increases the power of your punches. I've been basically playing the last few levels of my A+ rank run like a beat 'em up, rushing enemies and punching their lights out while stringing together big combos. It's a crazy approach, and I die a lot, but when I eventually manage to punch out every one in the room for a 10 person combo I get a huge combo point bonus AND a high boldness rating that helps me nab those A+ ranks

It's a brilliant game. I'm not saying it's perfect in every way. I could give you a list of flaws, but they're so easy to forgive in light of what this game does well. I love it!
