^That's correct, just like a Neo Geo game.

That's really cool that cartridges outside the Neo have more than one region inside them. Is that only for Toaplan games or is this for more cartridges/consoles than one would think?

I'd imagine that one is pretty brutal if you're just getting used to the genre.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Yeah. I also bought Phalanx, and that one is a little bit more agreeable with my novice skillset.

I still suck though, LOL

Currently playing Master of Weapon in trap15's shmup tournament. Argh!

Started off hating it, but I've figured out the early stages now, so it's not too bad. I think there are a few other games I'd rather be playing, though... (On the plus side, currently 5th in the overall standings! :) )

No offense to anyone that enjoys it, but I think Master of Weapon is a terrible shmup. Not due to its difficulty, it just doesn't have anything in it that makes me want to keep playing it.

Playing Raiden 3 on my PS2 with a buddy. I'm not very good in 2 player mode I've realized... But it's fun

Yep, iirc both versions are in both games. It just checks the region of the system. Similar to Grindstormer having both it and V-V available.
Is there a Game Genie code to switch the version in Fire Shark? (I guess Mystic Defender also has Kuujaku-O II on the cartridge.) Grindstormer and V-V aren't exactly the same game, though, and there's a menu option to switch versions in-game. Outside of carving a slot into the side of the cartridge on Fire Shark, and popping it into a Mega Drive, I don't know how I would get the JP version to load.

did you try 1 player 2 player mode yet? Pretty much the reason to own Raiden III.
