One of my son's friends(5 year olds) had a lazer tag party at a place and I thought it would be cool to get a set and play at my parents house(50 acres, a lot wooded), but I just remember the old ones that you could buy for home use not working that well.
Doubt you can beat the original which worked great outside, but I'll give you the 411 on the sets I purchased. I was hoping that stores still sold something close to GOTCHA!!! which was a disappearing ink stained water gun, but no go on that.

We'll be playing in the woods, which I hope helps the readability of the lazers...we'll have to wait for the weekend to see.

Wait you can play lazer tag outside? I should try that. I live on a 200 acre farm!

Anyone remember the Lazertag tv show? Something about time travel, I think.

Have at him Luke: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/07/10/ ... head-logo/

It's been a good week so far. Nothing to complain about, other than the incessant rain and humidity.

Playing in a basement or lowly lit area is optimal as sunlight screws with the "beams". but wooded areas were great for Lazer tag (in the late 80's and early 90's).
Shouldn't he, like, be wearing a Canadiens, Senators, or Leafs Sweater?

Hate his music, love his work ethic. Plus I kissed the Cup and borderline molested the Cup, so other than him getting a personalized sweater and being in the locker room, I have little to be jealous of.

The kid drives a cheetah patterned Lambo and says "I don't want to stick out" so what else should you expect?

Speaking of...Dennis Rodman said in the most recent issue of SI (paraphrased) "I'm the fifth most recognizable person on the planet. God, Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad Ali, and then me. And I don't even try to stick out of the crowd".

Fact: The back of Michael Jordan's head (earring included) is the most recognizable portrait, save for the crucifixion of Jesus. Coming in third is Mickey Mouse. No one gives two shits these days about dennis rodman than he and his agent.

"I try not to stick out" says the guy who is covered in tattoos, boasts about sleeping with madonna, has three tell all books (possibly more) and dresses in drag. Great rebounder, awful person.

You are mis-remembering. Gotcha were kid imitation paint guns. And wow that commercial totally lies about how the impacts looked, they weren't that big or bright (notice the 1 1/2 inch disclaimer). They weren't balls, but instead these magazines with little rubber stoppers that were hollow bits to hold paint. Zap-it were the disappearing ink guns.

Ah-ha! Zap-it it was. Perhaps the NES game GOTCHA! scrambled my brain.

Disappearing and reappearing inks need to make a come back.
