It has its similarities to PSO, but its not focused on online play as much as quest grinding. It didn't hook me like PSO did, but it was still a fun romp.

Shadow Hearts would be my underrated RPG. I love turn-based rpgs that actually have gameplay, like Legend of Dragoon and the Mario RPGs, so Shadow Hearts was right up my alley.

I would also love to find other rpgs like this, so hopefully this thread will bring some to light.

Seconded..

I also thought MegaMan X: Command Mission was a fun play and neat cross-over.

I haven't finished this one so I don't know if it gets better till the end, but the parts I played were really underwhelming. And for a supposedly Western themed RPG, there was an awful lot of castles and all that crap at the start of the game. I'll say that the use of tools in dungeons was sort of a neat addition, not that's it's something unique (Zelda and Zelda like ARPGs).

Does the bolded part have anything to do with your pick?
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box
