Freaking awesome game probably my favorite game in this collection. Only thing I didn't like was the infinite continues didn't reset you to a check point or the start of the level making it extremely easy to play through and taking a lot of the challenge out of this. Next time i go on a road trip I will definitely have to attempt a play through without letting myself use continues. Artwork was great, gameplay was spot on, and the various power ups were awesome. My only complaint was it felt very short with what felt like only 7-8 stages.
On another note I have almost beaten Varth on Capcom Classics Collection Remix for the PSP. I keep getting to the final boss and getting my ass handed to me literally made around 50-60 attempts so far can finish his first two stages off but the third just annihilates me. Really wish that there was a checkpoint in the middle of the battle like where it swaps from stage 29-30. Maybe there is a trick to beating it that I am overlooking(possibly the recontruction arms managed to destroy one once but can't figure out how i did it) but as of now it's one of the hardest boss fights I have ever experienced.
Was also trying to beat 1942 but the enemy attacks aren't very visible on the small screen making it extremely hard. Will probably have to get some hookups so i can plug my PSP up to my television.
These Capcom Collections are freaking amazing so far though. I love the PSP best $10 I have sunken into it yet.

Capcom shmups!

Since I see you have Capcom Classics Reloaded, there's another shmup you need to check out -- a certain user's name, perhaps?

This is my first complete playthrough of the original Doom. I use to have the shareware version back in the day, but just never really got into it that much. As time went on I wanted to give it a playthrough, but upon trying it, the control scheme felt way too dated.
I played it through with my xbox controller and it played great. The first 3 episodes were really enjoyable but when I got to the forth one, the quality of the game dropped heaps! It just became boring maps with a lot of enemies and it seemed to start harder and get easier and the episode went on.
Still fun for a runaround and shoot everything fix today, but the last episode left it feeling cheap.
The fourth episode was not part of the original game, that's why it's sub-par. It feels like something out of Final Doom.
Yeah I know that and I agree. It just felt 'cheap' and rushed.

1. Borderlands 2- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
2. God of War: Ascension- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
3. Actraiser- SNES
4. Borderlands- PS3 (Platinum Trophy)
5. Super Castlevania IV- SNES
6. Final Fantasy VII- PS1/PSN
7. Super Metroid- SNES
My first time playing and beating Super Metroid. Good game. My only regret is not playing it when it was first released back in the mid-90s. I think it would have resonated more as a "classic" if I would have. Nonetheless, great game and my only complaint is that it was too short.

I can't believe I am friends with people who don't own Child of Eden. It's dirt cheap now, no? If the game was still $50.00usd, I'd buy it. In a time where it seems like every game has side quests and achievements, Eden just screams "arcade video game". The look of it, the music, the crazy opening and ending...all of it is perfect in my eyes. Plus it plays incredibly smooth with the Kinect.
If you haven't picked up what I've been putting down, I love Child of Eden and wish there were more games like it.
I also wish there were more games like The Duel, Test Drive II. It's more of a driving simulator than a racing game and you don't drive on tracks, rather on highways. I can see why some people wouldn't care for this game at all, but I've been playing it a couple times a year since 1996. The mountain level reminds me of a drive to the Appalachian mountains, which is actually relaxing for me.
With today's technology, it would be fairly easy to recreate famous highways, throw in a lambo, and let you go nuts on the road. I would love a game where I could drive 140mph on I-40 and see how long it would take me to get from NC to DC. Even the small things like getting gas would be fun.
...and then you have Hard Drivin'. It's fun only for a reminder of how easily impressed I was when I was a kid. When I bought my Genesis they had a free game promotion. You got a little postcard that you filled out, sent out, and you would receive a game in the mail in what would seem like a lifetime. The card noted "May not receive game indicated". I chose Hard Drivin' but received Batman. The video game Gods smiled upon me that day.

Before yesterday, I don't think I've ever played single player. My wife is a straight up Dr, Mario addict and she usually crushes me in multi-player. I figured a little practice couldn't hurt, and ended up beating level 20.

That was my complaint about the game back then, too. Same complaint for the GBA ones.
They need to make another awesome 2D Metroid game, but beef it out more and give us more gameplay time.
