Hello all. I recently purchased what I believe to be a model 2 Saturn off ebay. It has round buttons on the top. I also purchased Racket's mod chip. However, when I opened the saturn, the chip which you are supposed to solder the blue wire is a 64 pin chip. My question is, does anyone know if there are model 2 saturns (round button) with 64 pin chips, or am i just ridiculously confused as to what a saturn with round buttons (instead of oval) looks like.
The wiki page below shows what I believe to be a model 2 saturn. Can someone also confirm this?

Thanks for the help.

Yes, some round button models had the 64 pin chip inside. Mine did and I used the a+b method to get the chip to work and it runs just fine.

Did you have to modify the mod chip as shown in rackets instructions for a model 1 64 pin?

Re: Model 2 (Round Buttons) - 64 pin?
good luck, some people get them to work and some don't. I had 3 64 pin saturns, none of which would work with the chip, whether it be a+b or soldered to the correct pin. The first 32 pin saturn i tried the chip in still works like a charm.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.

Re: Model 2 (Round Buttons) - 64 pin?
I have two questions about the installation. Can someone please answer these?
1. When plugging the ribbon cable into the mod chip, which side of the ribbon cable should be facing up, the copper side or the non-copper side? This is assuming the mod chip has the two wires at the top of the chip and the ribbon cable plug is at the bottom.
2. When the mod chip is installed, should the copper on the bottom of mod chip that plugs into the saturn be facing the left or the right? This is assuming the front of the saturn is facing me.
Thanks for the help.
