First thing I did when I got my turntable was accidentally play a 33 record at 45. I was amused.BoneSnapDeez wrote: To the kids, the funniest thing in the world was to play 33 speed records on 45 or 78. They just couldn't get over it.

Actually, extreme metal is the best thing to play at the wrong speed as the vocals are already distorted. You can turn death metal into death/doom and vice versa.AppleQueso wrote:First thing I did when I got my turntable was accidentally play a 33 record at 45. This is one of my favorite 1990s hardcore punk records. It's a one-sided 12" that plays at 45 rpm. It was a blind purchase for me, and I assumed it played at 33. After track one I thought "hey this is some pretty sweet sludge" - once the clean vocals kicked in during track two I knew something was wrong.

Ryan Davis passed away on the 3rd apparently.
Patrick left for Chicago. Ryan died. The GiantBomb crew is going through a lot...

An inch away from walking out on my job.
Tomorrow could be the ultimate test, I'm definitely about to break and not give a fuck.
Our department always gets the blame, 10 hour shifts turning into 12 is never enough for them, another supervisor fills in for our direct supervisor and treats us like shit, smart ass comments, isn't helping at all. People run around like maniacs towards the end of the day trying to get even just one extra order out, I'm sorry I'm not about to break my ankle for this place. Too much to even explain.
Wish I could just get fired and get on unemployment for a second or something though. Not sure what to do, it's be hard to match this pay but I think I'm just about done giving a shit about that and would rather take dollar(s) lower pay and not work at a jungle gym mail order pharmacy.
Right when I move out last year, lol. Life is about to get harder and more interesting I think.

Missed a lot, and have been catching up:
Cursive writing: Hate it only because I'm terrible at it. My hand writing in general is just awful and barely legible to even myself. I guess it's because I've never done much of it unless it was required. My life has been spent in front of a keyboard.
Vacation was fantastic! I had a lot of fun playing video games with my little brothers and taking my daughter to the Audubon exhibits. Her excitement over seeing bugs was enough to make the whole trip worth it. She skipped all the way through the center so excited about every new bug. This was also the first time she's really been around other kids she could play with. I also did a bit of socializing which is odd for me. Found out that a childhood friend is extremely into retro gaming and might be going to work for Valve soon.
Not sure what the point of budgeting before vacation was. Kinda lost track of everything from the get-go. Taking some time tomorrow to sort out what we spent and where we spent it so we have a better idea for next time.
My stepmom's OCD rubbed off on us, and we've been on a cleaning spree ever since we got back. The apartment has never looked better (Not that it was really messy before, but it feels more organized now)
Finally realizing a childhood dream and buying a Praying Mantis. I've always been fascinated by them and used to collect book/magazines. Unfortunately, my grandmother never allowed it. The closest thing I had was a model kit of Kamacuras. I'm taking it slow and buying everything I need first before ordering one. Still trying to decide between a Chinese Mantis or Ghost Mantis. If I get a Ghost Mantis, I'm naming him/her Amidamaru.
Returning to work has been met with a lot of grim news. Our work load is higher than ever and there have been several policy changes over the past week. These changes put me in the danger zone of getting fired. Luckily, with our current queues, it would be a bad idea to fire anyone. However, I still feel uneasy if I can't get my act together and improve my performance. I just suck so badly at this...

Smile: My 20th birthday is tomorrow! Whooo-hoooooo! If all goes as planned, I'm going to have a couple friends over, play some video games, and go out for a sushi dinner!
Frown: ...Emphasis on "If all goes as planned". I have the worst luck in the world when it comes to planning social gatherings, so it's likely that no one will be able to make it, realistically.
