I wonder if there is any retail game for the Indy. I mean a boxed game you could took off the shelves back then. Does it have a port for game controllers?

SGI machines workstations. I suppose someone could pull input from that 15 pin serial port on the back.

It is possible that the Quake III retail release might be compatible or recompiled for Irix, but the processors might be a bit slow for it.

Finally i'll get it in hours. Is the normal VGA monitor capable of displaying the image with false colors or won't show up anything at all? i don1t have converter yet but i'd like to test it somehow.

@Hobie: but then games won't use them, unless there is a Joy2key for IRIX :)

Well, it's a serial port. So either the game would have to look for input there, or yeah there would have to be some program that looked there and turned it into keypresses.

Got the machine. With a bunch of accessories i don't even know what they are and what kind of ports are at the back (only the most obvious ones). I think it will take a while to play doom:)
