Yeah, I realized that after sending the post off. Obviously printing/selling isn't free!
Because be honest, if the spelling error wasn't there, would that change your mind and make you interested in the book since you didn't like the first person writing style?
In all honesty I don't know. I guess when I see "Encyclopedia" I have a different expectation for the type of writing. Maybe if the book was titled "Every SMS Game Ever: Reviewed!" I'd be a bit more forgiving of the style (if not the grammar, spelling, etc.)

I gotcha on the encyclopedia title thing. That came about because as originally conceived it was going to be multiple volumes like an encyclopedia (and is on the iPad version). I'm planning on doing other systems and building off this one to make it more encyclopedia like. This was a first attempt at a project this size for me, do I started with the premise and kind of became attached to the name. But I understand the criticism there.

I'd like to add that there are also a number of run-on sentences and places where additional punctuation would really help readability.

I was OK with the first-person perspective, but stuff that affects readability disinclines me to spend money, despite wanting to be very supportive of an endeavor that surely required a lot of hard work and research. If you can find a friend who has a decent eye for grammar and readability issues, rope them in. A fellow gamer who has an English degree, even a disused one, would be great.

I would also recommend making available a version formatted to use on classic Kindle models. They can't read PDFs well without mangling them. A native Kindle version would help win over that Amazon audience, especially if you price it similarly to the PDF.

Thank you for the feedback. I really appreciate it. An editor would be wonderful to have, and hopefully for the next project I'll be able to afford one.

As for the Kindle specific one, I will have to look into that. I remember doing a kindle version for another project last year, but because of the lack of fixed page layouts it was all but impossible to do a decent looking project (I think the issue was the ability to change font size that threw everything off). And if memory serves it was incredibly expensive to have it converted. That said I will give it another look.

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that the print versions are now available on my site and on Amazon. There are two different ones. The color version is $65, and the black and white version is $25. The site is.

Just an FYI, Amazon is running an incredible sale on the color edition right now. It's only $23 (instead of $65). I have no idea how long the sale is going to last as I have no control over it, but if you wanted to check out the book this is the cheapest it will ever be.
