That quote is insanely reductionist of his larger (only slightly less absurd) argument. Bioshick > Infinite in some matters, not in others. Both are amazing.Pulsar_t wrote:http://www.nowgamer.com/features/198229 ... ailed.html

There have been some great suggestions for FPS to look up to give you the atmosphere you are interested in. I have one I'd like to mention, just because it is less of a shooter and more of a puzzle game: The Ball. In The Ball, you play an archaeologist who accidentally tumbles into a series of catacombs within a mountain while on a dig. Along the way, you find a weapon which pulls or pushes a giant ball. Once you have this, you must solve puzzles and fight the various denizens (giant insects, the undead, etc.) which live within until you finally escape. I had a lot of fun and have recently been considering running through it again.

I agree. its just the focus was shifted is all. Bioshock's atmosphere WAS the character, personality, and the main reason for immersion, Infinite's two main protagonists were the characters that made you immersed into its overall story.dsheinem wrote:That quote is insanely reductionist of his larger (only slightly less absurd) argument. Played the Bioshock Infinite 1 hour trial yesterday. As well as the Uncharted 1 demo. Both were solid, but Nathan Drake seems like a douche. I found the 'wisecracks' annoying. So while the Uncharted series is probably fun, I decided to buy Bioshock Infinite first. Gonna pick up a PS Move navigation controller later. I already have the regular Move controller and PS Eye.
I thought the right analog too sensitive for my untrained thumb. Not much of a FPS player. Perhaps if I lowered the sensitivity it'd be fine. Just seemed so difficult to move the target reticle a small distance if the aim was slightly off. But I'd rather try it with the PS Move for now.
Really like the atmosphere of Infinite. Cool world. Nice music. I hear the original is quite different. Maybe I'll go back to that one after.

You'll get a lot more out of the last few hours of Infinite if you play Bioshock first.ZenErik wrote:Played the Bioshock Infinite 1 hour trial yesterday. As well as the Uncharted 1 demo. Interesting. I think I'll still play Infinite first, haha. To try out the motion controls. But I'll certainly go back to Bioshock if I like Infinite enough. And then perhaps play Infinite again.
BTW, any tips for aiming with a Dual Shock 3? I plan on using the PS Move on this one, but just tips for FPS in general would be cool. I think the aiming sensitivity in TLoU and Uncharted is just about perfect. But those are 3rd person.
In the Bioshock Infinite trial it was so hard for me to just move the analog stick little enough to target things. Should I lower the sensitivity or try to adjust? Personal preference? When I play PC games I use very high sensitivity on the mouse with no problems. But these analog sticks I guess I just have never gotten used to for very small movements.

Why wouldn't you just play the PC version then?ZenErik wrote:When I play PC games I use very high sensitivity on the mouse with no problems. But these analog sticks I guess I just have never gotten used to for very small movements.

Because my laptop has a HD4000. Figured it wouldn't be up to the task. Plus I was planning to try the PS Move w/ the game anyway. But in case I use the regular controller and for other FPS I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.Hobie-wan wrote:Why wouldn't you just play the PC version then?ZenErik wrote:When I play PC games I use very high sensitivity on the mouse with no problems. You could play it at console resolutions on your laptop.
