The previews make Lone Ranger look very good. And I'm not even into Westerns.

Which begs the question:BurningDoom wrote:Westerns.
Mr.Popo,
Would you classify LONE RANGER as a Western?

I'm sure they could make that music work. They could give it a cool, modern, edgy, rock n' roll, teen friendly, guitar style spin:
See? Radical.
See? Radical.

You are my favorite person of the day. That video really REALLY makes me want a Lone Ranger themed episode of Saved By The Bell where AC is Tonto and Zach is the Ranger. That music would be a perfect fit for it.Jrecee wrote:I'm sure they could make that music work. They could give it a cool, modern, edgy, rock n' roll, teen friendly, guitar style spin:

I don't know if Lone Ranger is necessarily a western. I haven't seen it yet, so I can't comment, but there are some 'westerns' which really don't fit the tag.BurningDoom wrote:The previews make Lone Ranger look very good. And I'm not even into Westerns.
As an example, I'm not sure about people who call No Country For Old Men a western. I'm not sure if I'd say that.

It takes place in the old west and has cowboys and Indians...am I missing something here about what the definition of a Western is?Forlorn Drifter wrote:I don't know if Lone Ranger is necessarily a western. Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
I dunno, I've always seen Westerns as a bit more realistic, a bit more down to earth. This is more of an adventure or some such, rather than a western.BurningDoom wrote:It takes place in the old west and has cowboys and Indians...am I missing something here about what the definition of a Western is?Forlorn Drifter wrote:I don't know if Lone Ranger is necessarily a western. I liked it a lot.
I'll admit that I knew very little about this movie, despite being an avid horror fan. Also, in one of the stories ("Tuesday the 17th", which is one of my fave stories in the film), look out for "Poultrygeist" star Jason Yachanin.

Lone Ranger
I was really satisfied with it, I don't by any means see a reason for it to get the bad reviews it is. However, Johnny Depp is playing a Johnny Depp roll, so don't expect anything else. Also, tell me someone caught the Dead Man reference in there?
