Please tell me you are trolling. If not, burn the fedora, now. Even if we aren't "friend" friends, I still can not let an e-buddy wear a fedora. Friends don't let friends wear fedoras.

Hipsters and whatnot ruined the fedora for everyone, but I don't think it's fair. I want to take back the fedora. Hawaiian shirt + fedora = nope. Suit and tie + fedora = yup.

Although, even though I'm not the type to ever wear a Hawaiian shirt, if you were wearing one on vacation in some tropical location and you wanted to wear a fedora on the beach I'll give ya a pass.

Yeah, sure, there's no reason to wear one of the most common kinds of hats because the internet loves to judge people based on what kind of clothes they wear. How evil are glasses again?.

I consider wearing a fedora with a Hawaian shirt suicide, though.

I wear a fedora on nice evenings out.

Goes nice with my snazzy sport coat.

I think it should be obvious by now that Luke's fashion sense is still in the realm of our parents, that there's a "right" and a "wrong" way to do things. Which makes him officially the old man of the board.

I dunno, wasn't it in the self-pic thread? Am I remembering things wrong again?

Remember when everyone was wearing wife beaters and adidas visors? Same thing with fedora's these days. Trust me when I say most people, mainly women, think you look like a complete ass when wearing a fedora, especially if you wear it indoors.

My Father will, however, wear Hawaiian style shirts on vacation because it makes people mistake him for Phil Jackson. Last visit to Lincoln Park Zoo he had at least three guys ask him for his autograph.

Like a dozen red long stem roses, you can't beat the classics like a nice suit and tie.

BTW, I'm not leaving the house today and am wearing a King's No.2 Gyros T-shirt, a pair of Levi's (559's I think), black socks, and a pair of adidas sneakers (and my Whale boxer shorts).

I don't dress up because I like to be comfortable and I'm not in a button up shirt and slacks.

"Stop buying cheap clothes."

While it is true I don't choose to spend as much money on clothes as others, I just don't like having a collar buttoned up around my neck. I'm a very warm person and I live in a hot swamp that is warm and damp 9+ months of the year. Therefore being covered and buttoned up neck to toe means I'll be baking and miserable even inside with AC and if I walk outside for more than 10 seconds I'm going to be wet and unsightly.

I generally buy decent quality shorts and t-shirts and then wear them until they're dead. Though I still make them last years and I'll reserve the worn stuff for home or 'dirty work' use.

One thing though is that you really get comments when you wear something different than your usual. I always get comments from friends when I do dress nice. Random times I wore nice stuff to work 'just because', it freaked people out. Had bosses worried I had interviewed somewhere else or something and might be leaving.

Like AQ, I have been involved in many pleasant conversations with people because of a band or whatnot on a shirt I was wearing. :)

But anyway, If everyone wore suits all the time, they'd lose their special sense too. Dressing up or down can both be a nice change.

I totally will talk to people about their shirts, and I'm really not that social with people on the street.

I was at a RUSH concert and I saw a kid there with a BUSH t-shirt. I told him "hey dude, they misspelled RUSH."

A group of guys near him laughed.
