Stage 3 is such a ramping up

Clearing 600K by a little now, but that stage 3 boss is hard. Must conserve bombs!

Anyone doing better than 130K or so by the end of the first stage? Wish there was more to squeeze out there somehow...

So I credit fed to the end to check it out, and

Ignore what I said above about level 3 ramping it up. Level 4 is about the same, but levels 5-8? Fucking nuts. I'll be happy, at this rate, if I can ever GET to level 5 legitimately. There's some crazy shit on the later levels, the final boss is a hard case, and this game doles out punishment - especially if you are trying for score.

I'm a bit preoccupied with the tournament over on shmups forum, but I had time for a quick credit on this. For some reason, there was a glitch when it went to the high score table, and it still showed an old score from a while back, instead of the score I just got. The real score was still shown on the attract-screen, though (top left).

Getting your shot up to full power then losing a life can result in you losing all your power-ups, which is obviously a bad thing. I lost my first life against the Stage 3 boss, though, and an F pick-up was dropped on screen, which - when collected - instantly returns you to full power. I'm not sure if the F icon appears on the Stage 3 boss, or if it's dropped when you die with max power. It certainly comes in useful, though...

Anyone else get a weird glitch where when you bomb once, it immediately auto-bombs the rest of your stock, and then when collecting a Bomb power-up it instantly uses it? this happened to me a couple times already on both my modded xbox and my laptop, with a variety of controllers really strange...

FUCK! They started already?!! I wish I had known they were doing it early this year (it was in late July the last two years and in late August before that).

Why did they start early? Why didn't any of y'all say something? Who all from RB is playing?

Goddammit that is always one of the highlights of my year for playing games, period. fuck.

EDIT: Wait, this isn't the team based, dex-run tourney? phew. Is that not happening??

So far we've had Armed Police Batrider (Special Course) in week 1, and currently War of Aero in week 2.

I presume the yearly tournament will take place at the normal time. Is there usually a Racketboy team?
