The first two Rebuild movies aren't too bad. They sorta kinda sorta follow the same story, and TBH this 3rd one does have some elements from the show as well. But this third one was more like a pilot's checklist through the entire thing.

Skateland.
This movie hit me kinda hard. I'm not sure why. I guess because its familiar, and probably because I can identify with the main character a bit, but the movie just got me to thinking and such. I wasn't sure about it until the scene where he beats the crap out of all the assholes, then it clicked for me.

Scooby Doo Meets The Boo Brothers
This was the first feature length Scooby film and it shows. The gags are a bit repetitive and it's at least ten minutes too long, but on the plus side, the main villain/monster is kind of cool and the animation is better than usual by Hanna-Barbera's standards. If you're a Scooby fan, it's not bad, but you're better off watching Scooby Doo On Zombie Island.

When it comes to Scooby Doo there's always at least one gag that ends up being overused.Retrodude wrote:Scooby Doo Meets The Boo Brothers

That said, I still love the 80's Scooby Doo movies. Those are the three I remember watching quite a lot as they were the ones that contained a mystery to solve (if somewhat vaguely) and they had the monsters in them. I still have Ghoul School and the Reluctant Werewolf on VHS.
I like Zombie Island as well. It got the whole group back together and brought the real monsters back. It's was a good way to give the series a bit of a reboot, but after Witches Ghost they started diverging from the Scooby Doo formula I was familiar with more and more and started getting a little too different for my tastes.

I thought the beginning was a bit slow, but it found its groove and moved along quite nicely after that.

You thought/think correctly (or at least I agree with you).Michi wrote: I thought the beginning was a bit slow, but it found its groove and moved along quite nicely after that.
On my end I do enjoy the first act for the "where is this going?" angle, but getting some feeling for the characters was a breath of fresh air. Also adore the fact that there are many references that the movie does not flash back to.

You know it is a well-acted drama when DeNiro is the one stinking up the joint.Luke wrote:You thought/think correctly (or at least I agree with you).Michi wrote: I thought the beginning was a bit slow, but it found its groove and moved along quite nicely after that.
