I guess it's a problem with me, then. My niece and I have a great relationship and her mom taking her away would destroy both of us. I'm just not willing to take the chance on calling her bluff and it backfiring. I'm convinced that my sister is terrified of being stood up to and it wouldn't be out of character for her to follow through out of spite so she could claim I was the bad guy because she knows Mom would blame me for her leaving. It's a really screwed up situation. That said, she at least tries to be nice most of the time, it's just that when she gets in a bad mood, it doesn't take much to set her off.MrPopo wrote:Call her bluff. I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

Frown: Dealing with the A/C company has been something else, and my second and third floors still don't have cool air (pompous ass problems).
We were told we would get a $250 credit from their last visit since they didn't fix a dog gone thing, but today they said they would not honor the credit. The way that put the Misses in a tizzy was like one I've never seen before.
"YOU TELL THEM I'M CANCELLING THE CHECK AND CUTTING TIES WITH THEIR SO-CALLED LIFE!". She actually said "so called business", but I liked that show.
I try to make it Peter Pan by telling the company that I would pay for labor costs, but unless that they could prove that the thermostat was the problem, we weren't paying a cent more. The guy said "He probably threw away the original one away" so my retort was "Then the ball is in your court for proving me wrong".
So we have a back and forward on why we're getting the credit, and he says "Maurice worked for you right? Well I'mma light him up!". Told the guy to "let's keep this professional" and he responded with "Maurice will give you a call in the hour".
I quickly said "Let's get this straight: He changed the thermostat, the thermostat wasn't the issue. No need to go bonkers on the guy. Show me my old thermostat didn't work, and we're good".
Having the repair man confuses me to the point of crossing my eyes. Why would I need to speak with the repair man when he was the one who would gave us the credit? That's the managers responsibility, not mine.
So now I get to look forward to a call from a guy who has just been chewed out by his boss.

Ticked - Walked to the nearby McDonalds for lunch, I was going to go out with my reps but they had a last second thing come up. That is all fine, I like McDonalds every once and a while, and the walk is not bad at all - gets me out of the office for about twenty minutes round trip. Well their was a big line, both of the tellers were going to one line and it was about fifteen deep. I stood there for a bit and then a fella walks in the other door. He asks the people at the front which line they are waiting in and they explain that it is a joined line. He goes to the back of the line and waits about ten minutes, right about when I got up front, and decides he is going to bypass the other ten people and go to the teller. He looks at me and tells me to stay there. I told him that there is a line for a reason and he flashes a gun at me real quick and says if you move I will kill you. He then orders for ten people sitting in the building then gets mad when they wont take his food stamps. After hassling the manager for a solid ten minutes, he pulls out a wad of $100s and pays. Honestly, if I had been having a worse day, well lets just say the nearby chair would have ended up broken over the guy.

As soon as he started talking to the teller and turned his back on you, you should quietly have excused yourself and called the cops saying a man with a gun had threatened you and other customers at the McDonalds. Give the man's full description.fastbilly1 wrote:Ticked - Walked to the nearby McDonalds for lunch, I was going to go out with my reps but they had a last second thing come up. Re: What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?
Ticked: This past weekend I got two bullshit/entrapment tickets in Hoboken, NJ when I was there visiting friends. Basically a plainclothes officer stepped in to a crosswalk, waited for me to slow down and yield (which I did), then stopped walking as if to let me go ahead, and then (when I took my foot off the brake), decided to start walking again - causing me to slam on my brakes in order to not hit him. I was slapped with failure to yield and careless driving.
I want to investigate entering a plea of not guilty by mail with my side of the story and, potentially, letters from people who were with me in the vehicle to support it. I have called for the past two days to investigate about doing this, but the officer has yet to turn in the ticket. The kicker is the ticket requires me to enter my plea a week before the summons date for court, which is now scheduled for a week from today. So I'm in a Catch-22 of wanting to abide by the laws for pleading not guilty but not yet being able to because the jackass cop won't file the ticket.
I should add that I don't use "jackass cop" lightly, but this guy was a giant prick, despite me being polite. He asked me if "that's how they teach you to drive in PA?" as well as stuff like "maybe you shouldn't have been going 65mph" (I was going under the speed limit, which was about 30mph). He also told me to stop in the middle of the intersection to run the plates and give me the ticket, and I had to suggest that maybe it would be a better idea to pull over instead
FWIW it seemed like there were other cars getting pulled over for the same stuff there, so I feel like perhaps it was a "sting" operation. Nonetheless, it was bullshit and I can't even make my case yet. I've had a perfect driving record for more than a dozen years or more, and so this is just infuriating.
