underground gamer is offline for good
Re: underground gamer is offline for now
Admittedly there are many extremely low-budget titles like Yor, the Hunter of the Future which I didn't think would ever be released on DVD (it has since, in 2011). For instance, has Quest of the Delta Knights or Quest for the Mighty Sword ever been released on DVD? But hey, we live in a time where stuff like Future War, Surf Nazis Must Die, and Ator have been released on DVD...

That's why I'm a big fan of Mill Creek Entertainment. They've released tons of films that likely never would have been seen again otherwise. You can get sets of fifty sci-fi movies, fifty horror movies, fifty mystery films, etc. for ten to fifteen bucks. Very cool!

Another thing that might happen is rather than obscure movies being released on DVD, we might see more of them just released digitally, which is much easier for a publisher to do; they don't have to make the large financial investment to get a load of DVDs printed. Or maybe they could become part of a Print-on-Demand service.

I collect VHS for the medium , not to save obscure movies/shows . Plus I dont have a collection just few tapes . Its for nostalgia really.
I always wondered who watches these low budget movies. I know there are people who get a kick out of watching "cheese" but is it really worth it to have actors, producer, director, camera man, screen writer, and investors to create a movie all of them knew it would suck like Surf Nazi?
I wonder if people really find it better to use their spare time to watch such movies over high quality shows like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, or movies like Godfather or Saving Private Rayan. Even games like Red Dead Redemption and Skyrim

There's usually some interesting stories behind why bad movies turn out badly. It's very rare that they're ever made badly on purpose.
Re: underground gamer is offline for now
Plus it all depends on what you're in the mood for. When I'm in the mood for cheese, I pull out one of my Mill Creek sets, pick a movie, and do my own MST-style commentary. It's fun.

Is it known at least what was the material that got UG in trouble? I thought they generally played it quite safe.
