I bet you really hurt a lot of people, but it's for the good of THE COMPANY. :?

OK you can hate me know :D

1) It wasn't ME, nor was it MY decision, nor were the people involved MY co-workers.

2) My retirement and these events are mutually exclusive, and I doubt I will stay retired for more than a year. Consulting or teaching would be a blast.

3) It was good for the company as it's raised over $6million of revenue since the first fiscal year and has become a cash cow for the company's family. Although I don't agree with the way things were handled, the move helped us raise the wages of current workers and cut some serious fat.

You can keep everyone's job and the company goes under, or you can cut some jobs and save the company and jobs of others.

One sucks for all employees, but the other sucks for some employees. And college students with no idea how business works.

I get why it happens, and some employees deserve to also get fired in my book. Really though, would it be that bad to only have 5 million dollars in stead of 10 million dollars.
It all just comes down to greed.

A look at Hostess shows the top four executives get an 80% raise (CEO at 2.5 million) while they fuck with the union guys at 45k. And now its closed. But after the CEO works for five years and makes 10 mil fuck it right.

I could point out a bunch of stuff in my company but that would be a long story. We did fire our CEO and VP twice.

I think all upper management is a joke and not needed and a waste of valuable financial resources.

Now that my rants are over.

OK, time for :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks to Haz for recording this

I was in the 8th row and it was awesome.

:( : Tomorrow's going to be an early, long day.

:?:: What is the point of scheduling PT sessions about once every 2-3 weeks?

:) : I have family visiting this weekend.

:) I'm putting in my two week notice

:D I work for my dad and have had enough so I'm standing up for myself. I'm sick of hearing I can get someone else to do your job cheaper, you're just an employee and the like. I'm wiping my hands of the whole situation and letting him deal with his own messes. I'm not going to blow up and get mad I'm just going to say "I'm done because of this, this and this." I'm sure I'll sneak some snark in there about how easy it'll be to find someone to replace me (it won't be.)

The tipping point, I have been asking to be paid for the past 3 weeks and have been continually blown off. Hold told me to grab him a check the other day he then proceeded to say he's buying $5000 worth of fireworks. It was funny I must have been thinking "are you fucking kidding me?" pretty damn loud because he asked me what I said but I hadn't made a sound.

Wait, so what business is your dad in? And he's been withholding paychecks from you?

Smile: Just got off the phone with Miss Iowa. Not shitting you.

Squeals like a little Girl: She said "You can call me Nicki"!

I had previously contacted her Marketing rep about how Miss Iowa's Scholarship Fund operated and how the money was allocated. The conversation led to the rep asking "Why Miss Iowa?" and I divulged a bit of personal info.

So "Nicki" *tee-hee* called and thanked me for my support, even if we don't donate our money to her scholarship. We talked about her platform, why she isn't doing the media circuit, and at one point I said "Even if you become Miss America, you'll always be the Miss America with one hand". She unhappily acknowledged that I was right, but that it was more about making kids feel comfortable with themselves no mater how they look.

I believed her. She came off as zero percent pageant queen, one hundred percent sincere (or she's just that good at fooling people). There was no self promotion; it was like chatting with a friend.
