sega saturn 50/60 switch problem

I've a problem with my Saturn's 50/60hz switch. It works in both of those settings fine, until a disc is playing. When a game is on, for example, the Saturn's picture will constantly flicker back and forth between 50/60hz, regardless which setting the switch is on. This renders games unplayable because of how severe it is.

To test that it is because a disc is spinning, I went into the Saturn's main menu and there, without a disc spinning, it works flawlessly in both video settings. The moment I put in a music CD and press play, though, the Saturn starts to flicker between 50/60hz.

I don't know why it's doing this only when a disc is spinning, and it's worked fine until recently. Does anyone know what the source of this problem could be? Honestly I've had nothing but problems with Saturns - all six that I've owned since it was out have always gone wrong on me within weeks. It's ridiculous quite frankly, and if I can't get this sorted then I'm just going to have to give up on the console, since all my others have always worked fine, even my original PlayStation, but not any of my Saturns. I have no idea why since from what I read online it's a very reliable system for everyone else.:/

I've opened it up and I've found out that it switches between 50/60hz each time the sled moves. I don't know what that means or how it relates to the problem, but hopefully someone else does? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I've fixed it by tinkering with the switch's wiring and setting it to 60hz permanently (I probably should have done that before making this thread). Feel free to close this thread, I'll try to myself if I'm able to but I think only mods are allowed to.
