Tiger Handhelds

Post by Boyward »

I'm having nostalgic feelings for my long-gone Tiger Handheld games, and I'm wondering what Tiger games you had and enjoyed, and also which ones were pieces of crap. Back when I had my Tiger handhelds they were the only portable video games I owned, so I didn't compare them to Game Boy or Game Gear, and they provided hours of entertainment.

I had Electronic Ninja Gaiden II, Game Talk edition: "You are entering the world of chaos. The end of your life draws near. AH! AH! AH!" The guy was actually laughing there at the end but it always sounded kind of weird. Also the jumping sound was hilarious: "Beeroinggg! Beeroinggg!"

And because I loved playing After Burner in the arcade I also got Tiger Handheld for it: Electronic After Burner! The gameplay was incredibly repetitive but I remember memorizing the patterns and trying for a high score.

If anybody has these games for sale, as well as Castlevania II, Star Wars, Star Trek, Batman, or Karnov, I'd love to take them off your hands.

I had them and I remember hating them. Used to wonder why my parents would buy those things.

Also remember my friends having a Game.com. Used to sell em at the KayBee Toys for like 10-20 dollars only several months after it came out lol.

I still have the Electronic Pinball one.

I used to have Ninja Fighter, and Batman Forever, too. And I had this sports one that had Baseball on one side, then you'd turn it around, and it had football.

These are neat for collecting, but pretty crappy gameplay-wise. Vastly inferior to a Game Boy, etc...

I only own one: Jordan vs. Bird: One on One. I had a bunch as a kid, but they all got lost, broken, whatever...

I had a LOT of fun with the "Bo Knows" handheld. It was huge, and had two games attached to each other. One side was baseball, and the other side of football. The baseball game was far superior!

Oh man..that brings back the days.

My old Dentist's office used to have tiger electronic games as well as those fishtank water games where you had to get the rings onto the pegs...those made my dentist visits the best when I was young.

My friend had Castlevania so I asked for it for my birthday and got Jordan vs. Bird instead. :x

I did have one or two others but can't recall them. Good excuse to take to Google and check them all out.

They have the X-Men handheld at a used store near me but $10 is a little steep for pure nostalgia. At the same time, the thing just looks sick:

I have Road Race, a normal style sonic handheld, and a circle sonic one.

I loved these, even when they were terrible. To this day they hold a special, pathetic place in my heart.

I still have:

I always loved and wanted:

And although it wasn't a Tiger handheld, I used to have this thing, and it was awesome:

I had Sonic 2 and an R-zone. There was also a flip-phone looking Sonic game that played like breakout I always wanted.
