Composite to Computer Monitor?

Post by SJTimothy »

I'm looking for a cheap way to hook up some old consoles to the HD monitor in my office. I looked at some budget RCA to HDMI converters, but they all stretch the image. I'm looking at RCA to VGA but can't find info one whether it will retain 4:3 or not. Any info or suggestions?

Well some monitors may have their own aspect ratio options.

Composite is the cheap method as you said. It's common and easy to use. Not pretty.
For more serious gaming, start from formats like s-video or RGB when a console offers them.
Lum fan.

Unfortunately my monitor doesn't have options for aspect ratios. All I have are VGA, HDMI, and DVI inputs.
