If you're going to make a new game for a dead console, spice it up a bit. I'd love to see like say...a Dreamcast Arm Joe Port or something.

I can't stand when people trash Indie games.

You earn the right when you make your own indie game and fully release it.

Well there's an Ignore button. I have the right to be critical of any game I want to be critical of. If the game plays like a glorified flash game like every Dreamcast indie shmup that isn't Last Hope or Ghost Blade then I have every right to say they're half ass glorified Flash games.

Indie games aren't magically immune from Criticism because some jack off in their basement managed to code a game for a dead console.

All the games that have been released recently have been good.
If you don't like Shmup's then stop complaining about them.

What makes indie games so special that they can't be criticized? What does Strurmwind do that brings something unique to the Table? Last Hope was an R-type Rip off but at least it was a good R-Type Rip off and knowing it's creators are HUGE R-Type fans (I'm freinds with Rene who co created it) it's less that and more an Homage.

Big Sega and Dreamcast fan here. I think the reason you are probably seen a increase in the make a Dreamcast 2 meme is because of the release of the Wii U and the upcoming releases of the Xbox/Playstation newer consoles. I tend to partially agree with you in that i bet a good portion of these people never had/nor supported the Dreamcast when it was out. Crikey some of them probably never owned one period. Here is another these same people that makes these requests release Shenmue 3, Powerstone 3(can be anything just using examples) or bring back the Ford Thunderbird campaigns. These are the same people that are nowhere to be found if the manufactures decides to release them and usually dont buy SH*t. Costing said manufactures thousands. Years ago some thought that Sega would skip a generation get their finances right etc etc sounded somewhat logical but flawed. As mentioned before the Sega of today bares little resemblance to Sega of yesteryear. The console /video game market has changed a ton. The capital to research, properly market develop launch titles will be in the millions. A endeavor i dont see Sega/Sammy pursuing. Sega's reputation of abandoning their hardware will be hard to overcome yet again. What i think will be a good idea or something for Sega to explore is a Sega branded Android Phone or something of the sort. You mentioned Sturmwind. Well its a pretty decent game with slick graphics and a intense labor of love for the two brothers that made it. Groundbreaking no..Innovative no..You also have to remember these games are usually made by 3-5 people with little finances and no developers kit. This is probably why most of them are Shootemups, puzzle games, and simple games. To produce anything with big 3-D environments will require a difficult game engine that these will have trouble doing. Though they can be creative and borrow another piece of software game engine.

It has Panzer Dragoon, Nights and Burning Rangers. The Superior port of Street Fighter Zero 3, WAY Better Shmups and way more 2d Fighters. Playing imports on it is much less of a hassle, The Controller is better (Subjective yes, but it is) Nights and Jet Set Radio are on newer consoles yes but the fact Jet Set Radio can be played elsewhere now is a huge strike against the Dreamcast.

What i think will be a good idea or something for Sega to explore is a Sega branded Android Phone or something of the sort.

There are Sega Branded Laptops but with everyone and their mother releasing Android Consoles (Even Mad Catz) I wouldn't be shocked if we saw some Android powered Sega Emulator box come out.
