A few reasons I'm sick of people scream and crying for new Sega Hardware.
1. They're mostly hipsters who never even owned a Dreamcast new, and are completely ignoring the much more awesome Saturn.
2. Why didn't you get a Dreamcast to begin with? seems like half the internet screams for a new Dreamcast PROBABLY didn't support it when it was originally out.
3. MOST of the Non Sega/Capcom games kinda sucked....HARD the US Line up is full of complete and utter shit.
4. It's been 12 years Sega is a different company now making awesome games for the Playstation and Nintendo platforms (XBOX not so much anymore) I think it's time to move on and accept their FUSION HA Dance with Sony and Nintendo. I've been able to move on
why can't they?
Mostly a combination of 1 and 2 though, Why are you begging for a follow up to a system you probably didn't have back in the day?
Anyone else as sick as I am of 'Make Dreamcast 2"?

Sega should make a new handheld. Can't be any worse than the Neo Geo X.

Well they let Atgames make shit for them.... I'd be down for a Sega Handheld.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Sega should make a new handheld. Can't be any worse than the Neo Geo X.
Besides these people could just buy Sega Arcade Boards if they want a new Sega Console so badly.
I kinda want a Neo Geo X just for the stick but there's the Neo Geo Station on PSN so what's the point, I'll just get the stick.
Re: Anyone else as sick as I am of 'Make Dreamcast 2"?
You're generalizing an awful lot. Its kind of obnoxious to dismiss an entire group of people as being hipsters that didn't care about something in its time.
I'd love for Sega to make a new console. It won't happen, but I'd be happy if they did.
I have two Dreamcasts, both of which I bought while the system was alive and well, one at launch.
I still support Sega and I think they're doing some great stuff today. I have nothing to complain about.
I think you're making this bigger than it is.

I didn't say I wasn't but with people still pissed about XBOX One, it's popping up more often.
I have 3 Dreamcasts only 2 work. And Don't get me wrong I DO love the Dreamcast but here it is 12 years later... people STILL want a new Sega console, New Dreamcast games still come out, getting increasingly more half ass but doesn't matter NEW DREAMCAST GAME.
It just annoys me more than it should.

Ah, I didn't know xbox one talk was sparking more Sega discussion. I'm not surprised to hear it though.
Well I do see where you're coming from.
I mean, as much as I love Sega, if they jumped back into the hardware game, it doesn't mean the industry would suddenly change as a lot of people seem to believe.

Re: Anyone else as sick as I am of 'Make Dreamcast 2"?
There's this part of me that would love for Sega to make a new console that plays games...and does nothing else. That means all the marketing would be about games. That means the only screen you see when you turn it on is one with an icon to select to play your game. Actually, it wouldn't need an icon. It would just automatically run the game. There's no profile to sign into, no need for the internet at all, because it wouldn't have DLC or DRM. It just...plays games.
If you go online, it's only to buy indie or retro games from their store, or to download classic Sega titles for the built in emulator. That would include an emulator for ALL Sega arcade games. Players could also have OPTIONAL gamer profiles that they would have FULL control over, including removing any game from their profile history. Achievement/trophies would be non existent. Your profile would just show what games you are playing and be a way to connect with friends or play certain games online with multi-player. It would be a free service.
It would use flash memory cards like the 3DS and Vita. It would have a sleek design, a choice of differentl controllers with different layouts for different genres of games. Yes, that's right. It would have THREE official controllers with different designs. One of which would have six buttons on the face of it like the Saturn controller. It would be as powerful as the Xbox One and PS4, minus all the bullshit and also cheaper. It would be the exclusive home to the following series:
Sonic
Streets of Rage
Jet Set Radio
Panzer Dragoon Orta
Valkyria Chronicles
Phantasy Star
Crush
Rhythm Thief
Space Channel 5
Skies of Arcadia
and every other Sega property you could think of. Each system would come with a pack in game of Sonic Generations 2. Because a fucking new Sega console needs a Sonic title goddamn it!
The hardware would be easy to program for, and third party developer friendly.
No motion control, no kinect, no tablet controller, no gimmicks. It's just...a game console that has powerful hardware and is the only place to play Sega franchises. Their online space would also be a place that is friendly towards fan made games as well as indie titles. A place where a game like Streets of Rage Remake could have actually been sold.
The system would have a large library of arcade style games. That, along with emulators for older Sega arcade games would help establish its identity as a return to our arcade gaming roots as well as the only place to play Sega exclusives. Sega would also support retro style games and 2D games and especially Japanese games. All to carve out its niche as THE hardcore gamers' console. In fact, they could use the growing fad of retro style games as part of its marketing. Making old school gaming cool and mainstream. I hate to say this, but it could almost be like a retro hipster console. Plus, they could have a lot of their ads revolve around it being the no bull shit console. You put a game in, you turn in on, you play your game. No signing in to anything, no spending more money on DLC or online passes or any of that crap
Sega Spectrum...it just plays games

I can't program...but every Dreamcast game is another MEE TOO Shooter. Only Gunlord is anything that breaks that status quo.SamuraiMegas wrote: People like Sega and want them to make another great system, it makes sense.

Then don't complain. Tons of people like Shmups so people make them for the Dreamcast, which was already known fr them.
