And live beheadings at the halftime of the Monday night football game. You'd have people tuning in who don't even care about football. Hey, don't get squeamish on me now, folks! The blood is already on our hands, all we're talking about is a matter of degree.

Yeah if we had these harsh punishments, people might think twice. Instead of giving them free tv, healthcare, and food that we are paying for. We are giving taxes that go to people who kill innocent people. SMFH.

Given how often mass shooters kill themselves after their rampage, I'm not sure why any of you think that death on site as a punishment would be an effective deterrent to future shooters.

Oh, I'm not saying there should be public executions. All I meant was that if someone is going on a shooting rampage, do as our military does and aim for the head.

Don't get me wrong, shooting a gun out of a target's hand is bad ass, but in certain cases where the threat is serious, the target should be eliminated.

But hey...Good news. Seems like all the victims will pull through.

I'm sure the police and military feel the same way. If lethal means are what's absolutely necessary to neutralize a target, that's what they'll do.

Truthfully, though, I'm glad they got him alive. I'd rather people like this actually face the consequences of what they've done head on.

Good news indeed.

You can't make this stuff up:

One of the gun shot victims fled the hospital as there is a warrant out for his arrest. Reports say the man was out on parole and has been dodging his po.

damn dude. Glad you and yours are OK. Those poor people and their families.

Several months ago I found out there was a real life shoot out at the local walmart, which is like a mile from my house, and apparently we were there later that evening. Only reason I knew something was up was because I saw several news vans and reporters doing their 10pm on-the-scene stuff.

Glad you're ok, pally.

It's actually very rare for the police to attempt this. First of all, it's a very difficult shot. Secondly, hitting a gun with a bullet will generate a lot of shrapnel that can injure any civilians around him. Thirdly, in many cases it won't actually knock the gun out of his hand (Mythbusters did a series of tests based on angles to see which ones worked and which ones didn't). Similarly they don't generally attempt to shoot the leg or some other disabling shot; it leaves the target still able to cause harm. If they think deadly force is required, they shoot to kill.
