Join the movement to make Nintendo consoles region-free!

Post by wip3outguy7 »

Cheesemeister over at NeoGAF started a thread calling for region-lock removal from the Wii U and 3DS. This was before Microsoft announced that they would be doing away with the Xbox One's DRM policies. Removing region-locking at the console level was part of that announcement.

This has given the movement a little more traction. There is also a petition.

Just trying to spread the message. I can't speak for for the Wii U community, but I already have a pretty good list of games I would import for the 3DS if the region-lock was removed.

I am down with the removal of region locking. I think it is an eventuality, but may become completely irrelevant with the eventual move to digital only. I am in support of this though!

I would love it, but doubtful we will see it happening. Online petitions have never worked.

We wouldn't have needed the petition for Xenoblade if the Wii wasn't region locked in the first place!

I'd love to see a region-free future and signed the petition. But I'd be surprised if Nintendo suddenly released region-free versions of their existing consoles.
