Music Collecting Sites/Software

Post by BurningDoom »

Just wondering if anyone knew about any music collecting websites or software like RFGeneration of VGCollect for music? Something that's free?

Something that can help keep track of records, tapes, and CDs; and a wishlist, if that's out there.

Thanks for any help. :)

Discogs will let you track your collection, learn about other releases by a group as well as things members have worked on outside of the group, add things to your wishlist, and you can buy and sell stuff there. If you have stuff on your wishlist, it will let you know when someone posts one for sale.

I really like RateYourMusic. To me, that's my equivalent of RFGen for music.

RYM is good, but if you own an album in multiple formats and try to catalog that it gets kinda hissy at you.

I'm gonna look closely at Discogs tools.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'll probably check these sites out when I get home from work today.

Discogs will let you add multiple formats and even multiples of the same format. So if you say had a regular copy and a signed one it will happily let you add it twice.

Yeah I seriously can't believe I've never bothered digging through the marketplace before, great stuff.
