I have no doubts that Venom was just playing around and goofing off with the Satan stuff. It probably offended certain groups of people and they got a huge kick out of that.

Just halloween-ish "boo" stuff.

That was my general impression from what relatively little I know about the band.

Oh hey look what I picked up today.

Didn't even know it was colored until I pulled it out when I got home, so that was a nice surprise. It's actually translucent too, which is even cooler.

This one came highly recommended to me by a good friend of mine who's really into USPM and Doom and whatnot. John Arch is certainly a hell of a vocalist.

late to the game but here are three important thoughts:

1) Venom rules

2) there are at least 2 ragers on every one of the "bad" slayer albums. we're all well-versed here, we know which ones are the classics, but "Dittohead" and "Disciple" are good songs in their own right, and it's sort of unfair to compare them to "Altar of Sacrifice" or even "Silent Scream." or whatever.

3) Venom rules

Does anybody here have a battle jacket?

I kinda doubt it, but I still think they're cool as shit. I only have one small JP patch right now, so I'm far from starting a jacket. Also, there's the fact that power metal and doom metal bands can be a bitch to get patches for. (I also have no idea what I'd use for a backpatch... I don't have anything that currently holds me well enough to deserve it.)

I do! I have a jean jacket with a huge baphomet pentagram on the back. On the left side of the jacket I have a venom - black metal patch and on each shoulder I have a cluster of 1 1/2 spikes sticking out.

I have another vest which is dark grey color with Paradise Lost - Gothic backpatch. On the front left pocket I have a pentagram patch. This vest is a working progress.

I have another black vest for my gothic attire. This is old school gothic rock straight form the batcave. On the back I have a coffin with a vampire bat embracing it. On the top of the backpatch I have the Christian Death logo in blood red from Valor's era of the band. I have metal studs all over the upper back of it and on the should I have a row of 1/2 spikes. I the front I have an Alien Sex Fiend patch right next to a Bauhaus patch. I know this is not metal, but I love it.

I also have a sweater. on the back is a cut off Darkthrone - Transylvanian Hunger shirt made into a backpatch. on the should is an Electric Hellfire Club patch and on the front I have a Dimmu Borgir - Stormblast patch with a Cradle of Filth - Vempire patch.

Edit: I'm trying to get a 2 leather jackets at the moment. One for black metal stuff and the other for early industrial/batcave era gothic rock stuff.

Siiiick. Pentagram patch? That's nice.

I have an idea for a backpatch, but I'd have to get it done or figure out a way to do it myself. It'd be Iron Maiden-The Trooper, but redone like a confederate soldier.

EDIT: Also, am I the only one who finds that a person with a MLP avatar liking black metal if freaking hilarious? And Alien Sex Fiend sounds like a badly translated tentacle hentai.
