I bought Canada from the Queen of England in 2003.
Not my smartest investment to date, but we'll see how things pan out.

I agree. Yes the robot could be done better, as could the Carousel but I think any modern remake would make it too actiony. The city model shots have charm to them too.Ack wrote:Interesting, but that film is very set in its time period. I don't know if I'd want to see a remake.fastbilly1 wrote:So Logans Run remake with input from the Bioshock writing team, thoughts?
Actually that's really easy. They just render without motion blur and only render every 2nd or 3rd frame. It will save them a ton of time. But it is wholly appropriate in this case.Mr Popo wrote:Holy shit, that looks like an amazingly fun movie! I especially like how they're taking the time to make it look stop motion-y.

There's probably more to the look than that. 24fps is 24fps so rendering every other frame wouldn't achieve that look, it'd just make it choppier. I think the look of stop motion comes from the fact that it's done by hand so the movement doesn't follow a naturally smooth gradient. CGI uses a lot of physics simulations to create natural movement, where stop motion is left entirely up to the human eye.

THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF THE LIVING CORPSE
Considering that this comic-book adaptation was pretty much made for the straight-to-DVD market, this film's pretty damn good.
But otherwise it's at best the "Pretty Decent for Straight-for-DVD Adventures of The Living Corpse".
Though it hasn't dissuaded me from persuing getting into this interesting take on zombie fiction.

You can still manually tweak animation curves for points. Back in the day all CGI was still hand animated like that. Moving characters on smooth curves doesn't produce natural looking movement anyway. But they could be running something that randomizes the points per frame a little bit to make it look slightly off too.Jrecee wrote:There's probably more to the look than that. 24fps is 24fps so rendering every other frame wouldn't achieve that look, it'd just make it choppier. World Z War Zzzzzz.. according to reviews I'll wait for the rental. Still nothing worth the trouble from Hollywood. When is that Rim flick coming out again?
