The Last of Us- GOTG?
Re: The Last of Us- GOTG?
I completely agree with the AI partners breaking the immersion of stealth! I am sneaking around being careful, and your partners are stomping as loud as possible. I learned that the AI couldnt trigger the enemies when I came around a corner at the last moment to get out of sight of a guard, and my partner comes up behind me, cuts off the guard, and sticks to the wall with me. The guard was not alerted or anything by a sneaking man practically running into him.

Re: The Last of Us- GOTG?
Alright. Purchased the game on PSN. I'll give it a download tonight and hopefully love it.
Re: The Last of Us- GOTG?
You guys are all making good points. Just let yourself be killed if you waste supplies in an area. Stealth can be a little iffy at times. Take time and scavenge, adds a great deal of realism and play time to the game. I played it at normal and often found myself passing up items because I had no room for them. Almost always had 3 health kits.
I think if you are a Halo/Call of Duty person, you may not like this. If you are a Silent Hill/Early Resident Evil person, this may satisfy you. You will play this more for the experience of the game rather than for the sake of the gaming experience itself, if that makes sense LOL.

Bill: Alright Joel, be real quiet like, this place is full of 'em ya hear?
*sprints across field in noisy combat attire and heavy combat boots*
*unloads 12 gauge shotgun into the crowd and starts cutting heads off*
Bill has a really strange take on stealth.

Enjoying The Last of Us more now that I am actually playing and not watching. Cutscene ratio isn't so bad when you're into it. Plus I explore more than my friend did. Already found a good half dozen collectibles that he had missed.
Time to go back to sleep for a few hours before I get up for work. These birds chirping outside are killing th atmosphere.
My download is still going, but I was able to start playing when it was 2/3 done. 27GB total.

Also I've been watching a Let's Play of this on Youtube, and I'm conflicted. It looks like a really fun game with really good characters, and on the one hand I don't want to keep watching for fear of spoilers in what happens to those characters. But at the same time I've been able to predict every plot point down to the letter, so maybe it doesn't matter. :/
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

Or do it like Bioshock Infinite did.
Re: The Last of Us- GOTG?
Just finished the game this morning, didnt get a chance to play it for a few days, otherwise I would have finished it earlier this week. Some general thoughts before I put a spoiler tag for ending details.
First, did anyone else think that for being 20 years since the outbreak, that parts of the world didnt seem weathered, or distressed enough? I mean a lot of these buildings and houses dont have windows, exposed to the elements for 20 years, but look like people just moved out last week. The outdoor environments in the city is good though, with the plant life taking over.
As for the original question posed in this thread, Game of the Generation? Not even close.
