Game box problem...

Post by MrEco »

So, I got a copy of Metroid Fusion in the mail today. One big problem however. The box is utterly destroyed.

It's torn in several places, crushed to the point that it's lost it's shape, there's a place that obviously use to have a sticker on it that now harbors caked on dust, and the top flap will not stay closed.

Now I've got only two choices it seems. Either deal with it, and have a really ugly looking box that looks like it's about to fall apart any second sitting on my shelf. Or buy one of those replacement boxes off of Ebay that are essentially DS boxes with the artwork of the GBA games put on them. But if I do that then I'd probably want to switch over all of my GBA games to that so they would match.

So, advice?

Contact the seller and make him give you enough money to buy a decent box.

Did the seller indicate that the box was in rough shape or do you feel swindled?

I don't mind beat-up boxes. You should see my Amiga CD32 box. I would just roll with it.

Unfortunately for me the seller didn't actually detail the quality of the box, so I can't technically fault him for it. The game was simply described as "Used - Good" and the description mentioned it included the original box and manual.

It was me that assumed "Good" actually meant good and not... however you describe what I got. :/

You can get the art for the NDS case here. It should be sized accordingly and ready for you to print. Now all you need is the DS case.

I'd let the seller know that 'good' doesn't mean annihilated, so that way he won't mess anyone over in the future. But look at the bright side, at least you have a copy of Metroid Fusion right?

Go the NDS case route. It looks incredibly nice on the shelf.

Lol, yeah, I suppose that's what matters.

Yeah, I'm sorta leaning that way. Just not 100% sure yet.

One of those thin plastic boxes for keeping nice boxes nice would also help it hold it's shape. I agree that good doesn't mean crushed either.
