Just gotta get Chrom and Olivia hooked up before I finish chapter 11 I guess. Time for some DLC map grinding.

I figured I would post this info here too:

I beat Chrono Trigger.

I'll be playing through more of my Summer Challenge for a bit, so I will be taking a break from RPGs for a bit while I try to get through those. But once I've either gotten through the list or given up, I'll be back to this genre! Probably with a bottom of the barrel title, since I just beat a classic.

Maybe I should track down Brandish...

Have you played Ys I & II? If so it would be interesting to play Lagoon for comparison's sake. It's like Lagoon tried to imitate Ys, but got many things completely wrong.

Actually I watched gameplay yesterday and kept thinking about how it reminded me of a crappy top-down Ys III.

This includes Olivia; to get her to win you essentially have to not do anyone's C rank conversation with Chrom and have the two of them pair up the entire chapter.
Alternatively you can have Sully, Maribelle and Sumia marry someone else before chapter 11, leaving Olivia as the only choice.
Crap. I see what you guys meant now. He just auto marries Sumia. Hmm, I guess I could try and marry her off to someone else. Or maybe I'll just go with it. The more I think about some of the earlier scenes they have, it actually seems like the game is shipping for them LOL.

Think I'm gonna pair Lon'qu with Lissa. They're so damn funny together, and I'm still leaning Cordy for my avatar. Seriously crushing on her. Though I'm kind of curious if Chrom's daughter ever becomes a romantic option. She could give Cordy some competition for my affections. She's pretty badass. I want to recruit her damnit!

I love this game. I'm already obsessing over character dynamics and relationships(so help me Cordelia, if you don't stop talking about Chrom damnit!) Some of the visuals are amazing. In one level it is raining. Just the way the water interacts with your characters in combat in that stage was amazing. I had Lon'qu prepare a critical attack on an enemy, and a big splash of water took up most of the screen as he moved into position. Love stuff like that. Another level surprised me with a bird flying over the map and nearly popping out of my screen with the 3D turned on.

I'm pretty much making Lunatic mode my bitch now. My avatar and Donnel are whooping ass. They can both pretty much solo maps now, even not paired up. Donnel's levelling has slowed down a LOT though, but he's a hero class and seems tough enough already. Frederick is actually falling behind just a tad (magic users are becoming the bane of his existence). I need to reclass him and build him back up and try and up his crap magic resistance. I have tons of seals coming at me know from random green merchants appearing on the map.

I can't wait to try Lunatic+ after I finish the game.

If she's at the same support level as her competition, Sumia wins.

She does, but only for the Avatar. The Avatar can marry anyone in the game.

Playing through Final Fantasy V for this years 4 Job Fiesta. My first job was Thief.

Thief is possibly the worst job to get at the start (White Mage is a pain too, but at leats it stays useful throughout the game). I only had two knives to get through the first dungeon (leaving me with two unarmed characters), they take loads of damage like a mage, but can't dish out much damage or healing either. I'm just past Siren now, on my way to the next town (which sells daggers at least) and then off to get my water crystal job.

Here's my ranking of how useful the water crystal jobs will be to me:

1. Summoner - Only remaining decent magic caster job, so it'll be handiest in the long run so I'm not all physical
2. Mystic Knight - Stupidly powerful, actually hits quite hard with a sword, can add elements to swords, so kinda makes up for no magic power.
3. Time Mage - Awesome magic abilities, but not really much attack magic.
4. Red Mage - Enough magic to power through the first world, but then it's really gonna suck for the rest of the game.
5. Berserker - I can't control it, it only adds more physical power and it's a liability in several places throughout the game. At least it can use some thief abilities I guess

Hoping for any of the first 3. The last two will make things difficult.

Did a little level grinding around Bleak (Yellow/Golden Slimes give up quite a bit of EXP), and then got the Icicle.
