People today miss out on the fun of LAN parties.

Protip: Putting chips in a wide mouth plastic cup and eating them that way prevents finger salsa in your controller.

Glad to see other people use this trick. It's my requirement for gaming snacks. If it can be put into a cup and eaten then I wont eat it. I personally like pretzels.

Personally, I eat things with a fork and knife or a spoon while playing games. I play for a bit, pause, put down the controller, take a few bites, then go back to the game. I also drink lots of beverages.

Never had a LAN party! Definitely do a lot of local multiplayer console gaming but never anything like a PC LAN party. I wouldn't mind doing one, but only a few of my friends are into PC gaming. And mainly MMOs.

I think Microsoft need to take a leaf out of Nintendo's book and sell consoles based on the quality of your games not the colour of the packet of high-carb fat-saturated salty crap they're trying to force down your neck. I find that hard to swallow; this advertisement campaign even more so.

So wait they aren't doing a promotion there with irn bru?

Consoles have some similar kinds of things - the Halo games (at least through 3) are excellent for it as you can have multiple consoles on a network all playing split screen as well.

That said, with the proliferation of wireless, and the relative strength of integrated graphics even going back a few years, it's not hard to pull together a LAN party of sorts. Basically everything my friends and I used to lug towers and big ol' CRTs to someone's house to play - Quake III, Unreal Tournament/2k3/2k4, Counter-Strike, Serious Sam, have no performance issues on even Intel integrated graphics from a few years ago. So you just need people with PCs (or old PCs), not necessarily "gaming PCs".

I miss LAN parties too. It's what I did for my bachelor party.

Facing an obesity epidemic? You watch too much tv man, that is a judgement without first hand knowledge. We also have about 1000 other epidemics, our news is about as accurate as the internet.  There is no higher a percentage of larger people here than over there. Nothing wrong with advertising like that, it is not their fault when people dont consume in moderation.

But seriously man, dont judge us by our TV. Real life here is no different than yours, just different places. It would be like me judging you by the show Shameless. By the way, funny as hell.... your version is way better than ours. Could you tell me why the British shows always rotate the actors in and out at light speed? Or is this just something I have seen by my limited viewing? :D

Wow, I just defended Microsoft.
