And I don't mean customization like what color, I mean what engine, whether to chop/chanel/otherwise change, ratrodding, gearing, exhaust systems, defensive and offensive mechanisms, setups for electronics heavy cars (new cars), standard versus automatic, what transmission...

Now I'm all worked up.
The game you want is called Car Wars and you are lucky because it's going to get a new edition after Steve Jackson finishes the OGRE reprint.

You'll have to wait, tough.

I teach a computer class for disabled adults looking for job skills. Basic stuff like typing, how to use the internet and email, word processing, and making cover letters and resumes.

They are a lot like kids in many aspects. So on Fridays, as a reward, I give them free time as long as they work well for me during the rest of the week.

I had recently brought in some games for free time, and among them was the Sega Smash Pack.

I just wanted to share, that right now, one of my clients is playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the first time. And it's amazing to watch him. He's having an absolute blast! He's got a grin from ear-to-ear and he is very verbal and expressive as he's playing. Wish my phone could do video right now to share. I may have just created a new gamer.

Interstate 76 is kinda like that. Far better than Interstate 82. I too want a deep car combat game, but I am glad for what I have. Also Carmageddon is getting a sequel late this year - it was kickstarted last year. So far it looks awesome, but it is not exactly what you are looking for.

But I will second the Car Wars claim. Though I do not play it anymore and want an updated ruleset, I am a fan and have my original copy of it, Truck Stop, and a dozen other expansions/magazines.

You might want to check out Gas Guzzlers. I haven't played it yet, but it's in that genre and looks pretty nice.

Is xenoblade chronicles getting a re-release or is this going to be the next earthbound?

I definitely wouldn't expect a re-release at this point. Good luck.

Reminds me... I better grab Pandora's Tower soon.

How would it be the next Earthbound? Most JRPGs get a low print run and become expensive in a short amount of time but I don't see why Xenoblade would become the next Earthbound.

In terms of price, I suppose. It's already going for over $100 on many websites. Within 2-3 years it should be right up there with earthbound, especially at the inflated rate I'm seeing just about everywhere for popular games

This psychedelic Occulus Rift game called SoundSelf makes you look like a total idiot while playing it, but I want to play this more than anything else.
