You say that like its South Texas specific. I've been in Lubbock when its a 110 F, and let me tell you, that hot wind blowing dust on you while you sweat so bad leads to a nasty mess.Sasha_Blue wrote:South Texas, the summers are brutal. On some days it gets up to 110 F

Louisiana is bipolar with the weather. One winter is was 26 degrees and snowing, the next day peaked at 80. The summers are like that too, mornings are usually hot as hell then the rain comes, then it gets hot and humid and you feel like you're breathing water. I think the south in general is used to seeing the high temps, I'm just not used to the dryness.
I'm here for your body.

Me too. For me summer is indoor time.AppleQueso wrote:I just stay inside when it's that friggin' hot.
There were so many people around here complaining about how long winter was lasting this year. Every time someone said something, all l I could think about was the looming 90+ degree temps and how much I'd miss my sweaters and the outdoors once the heat kicked in.

Re: Random Thoughts Thread
I say this with no intent of being a jerk, or criticizing nor attacking someone's looks (look at me), but I just had a quick call with a lifelong friend and we both agreed that Joan Rivers looks better than kim kardashian.
We also agreed that kim looks better than Melissa Rivers, but not by much. Insecurity is pretty unattractive, and we also agreed that new Mothers not afraid to look like God/Buddha/whatever made them is attractive to a T.
We also talked about sandwiches, but that wasn't as engaging of a conversation.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person I know who's been rooting for Miami in the playoffs.

Ironically, here in Texas everyone I know rooted for the Heats over the Spurs.dsheinem wrote:I'm pretty sure I'm the only person I know who's been rooting for Miami in the playoffs.

Not rooting against the Heat, but I'm pulling for the Spurs. Actually I'm rooting for Popovich more than anything.dsheinem wrote:I'm pretty sure I'm the only person I know who's been rooting for Miami in the playoffs.
Which means if the Spurs win we'll see more of his wife.
