Gravis Gamepad - $1.00 Swap Meet
An older gameport controller, even came with the often misplaced threaded in stick! Crisp new condition, I really made out on this, got it to work with a USB adapter. The Gravis built in Y Adapter even picked up a second gameport joystick thru the USB adapter and correctly as Z Axis Z Rotation. Also discovered some of the buttons of the Gravis have a great feature. Not only do two of the triggers can be set to face button Autofire but the other two triggers emulate the Dpad which work great in sideways control for SHMUPs and spin "Asteroids style" Overhead Space Shooters.

Discovering a vintage Gameport controller such as the Gravis with its unique control functions really makes hunting Retro controllers worthwhile.

CH Flightstick Pro - $5.00 $4.00 Swap Meet
Another gameport controller at a great price! Having owned the original CH Flightstick, I have been wanting this for quite a while. Unfortunately the buttons are sticking, too many years in storage evidenced by the layer of grime when I bought it. Need to track down a decent Allen, the screws are deep inside and really tight.

Xbox Akebono S Controller - $1.00
Still like the Duke better, the seller let me bundle with the Flightstick above to the five dollar bill I gave her.

PS2 Kingdom Hearts - $5.00 Swap Meet
PS2 Hack Infection with bonus DVD- $5.00 Swap Meet
All PS2 games five bucks! Not big on RPGs but could not pass up on these which are usually pricey. Sweet getting both CIB, Hack Infection even included the bonus DVD. :D

I picked up and original Playstation for $8 at the local Goodwill. It's the first time that I've ever owned one and the condition was too good to pass up. Barely a scratch on it.

It came with the wires and one controller. Luckily, my girlfriend had some PS1 games and a memory card that we were using for the PS2.

I'm not going to lie, I prefer this style over the smaller PSOne.

This now bring my console collection up to 14. I'm going to have to buy a second switch for my Trinitron since I don't like having the front A/V port occupied.

Which model number, does it have a cart port on the back? With that many consoles, maybe make a signature list?

SCPH-9001. It's from November 1999 so it's not a first release original. I meant original in the non-PSOne.

The back has the plug port, the AV multi-out, and the Serial I/O.

I apologize, I'm not as well versed on Sony systems as I am SEGA systems.

I may take your suggestion on the list.

The Serial is for linking another PS1 for two player two screen game play. Oh crap, no Parallel Port for popping in a cheat cart. Ah well, at least the newest of the grey models. You also have the Sound Scope Music CD player built in, I think one of the better ones around due to the graphic affects. Give it a try and mash the various buttons for the light show.

I'll give that a try.

I'm just happy that I got a nice working system for $8. I saw one at a Salvation Army last week for $15 and the plug port looked like it was caving into the system.

I passed on that in favor of a Sega Genesis that I cleaned up and sold.

Today I got a copy of Sunset Riders (w/box & manual) and a cart only Death and Return of Superman for the SNES in a Craig's List deal for $50. It's a bit pricey for 2 games but it's frickin' Sunset Riders!
I stopped at a Goodwill (where I have never seen anything game related except Guitar Hero crap) near by the meeting place and skimmed the CD racks. To my absolute astonishment I found 3 Turbo Grafx-16 games; Keith Courage, Legendary Axe, and World Class Baseball. They were marked at $1.99 each. I also picked up a copy of ESPN NBA 2Night 2002 for Xbox marked at $2.99 (because I collect NBA games). They lady at the counter only charged me $7.50 for everything. Awesome!
This put me in the mood to do some more thrifting. The only other thing I found was FIFA International Soccer for Sega CD for $0.99. Not great games from the thrift stores but certainly not common to find Turbo Grafx-16 or Sega CD games so I'm happy.

I also found a copy of Eternal Champions with the case & manual but with a "Kids on Site" (whatever the hell that is) disk inside. If anyone needs the case and manual to complete their game let me know.

The vato noiseredux convinced me to get into psp about 2 weeks ago - a couple small boxes arrived the past 7 days and my big box arrived today:

Total damage (including the 3 ps3 games) was just under $200 and $50 in trade.
