Retro Gaming Memory

Post by Kyle »

A few weeks ago I started, searching retro gaming motives for a memory. I found some nice pics (36 so 72 pics, because it's a memory :D). After that I bought a blanko memory game, printed the pics and glued them on the cards. Finished! I looks very nice, have a look.

I made myself a Retro Gaming Memory Game and I wanted to present it here.
(Maybe you know it under a differnt name. Here in Germany it's called "memory"
That's what I mean: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concentration_(game))
Sorry for the misunderstanding

Yeah we call it memory, some times concentration, in New England (USA).

That's really cool! You know what would of been cooler, where it was two different scenes from the games and you had to match em', that'd be like doubly hard mode!

That suggestion is because when I was in primary school I had to spend like an hour or two with this "special" teacher once a week. I wasn't sure what the class was for, and I have this sneaking feeling in my belly it was for the... you know... "special kids". But hey, I got milk and cookies while I was there. No complaints from me!

Anyways, we would play a memory game with math. But instead of copies on the two tiles. There was one with a simple arithmetic equation (say like 3+5 or 2*10) and another with the answer. You then shuffled them and laid them out upside down and tried to match the equation with the answer.

We also played a lot of Black Jack too. And the teacher spent a lot of time asking me why I liked smashing my head into walls... whatever teach, TWENTY ONE!

Ahh...it's not a problem, chief, I just wasn't sure what you meant. That's pretty cool. Props for Bucky O'Hare.

Sometimes I worry about you dylan. :?:

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

No reason to worry. My strangeness isn't a big secret.

I was a strange child. The main reason I believe the class was for "special" kids was because when I was 2 years old I drown... I was considered dead for a moment. I was under water for about 4 minutes, cerebral hypoxia of that length in a 2 year old usually causes large cerebral retardation. The doctors feared I may be mentally handicapped for the rest of my life. Thankfully after recovery I didn't show many signs of it.

So it would only make sense that they'd put me in the class, to make sure later on down the line once I've developed more. It's just no one told me why I was there. And I got to eat cookies!

If they told you why you were in the special class, you wouldn't learn as much, from the self-fulfilling prophecy effect.

I ended up being in the special class on the other end of the spectrum, but I was told why, which turned me into an elitist jackass. Fortunately, I managed to find a job where everyone else is the same, so it all worked out.

Of course, I never questioned their reasoning for not telling me. But in the same respect in second grade it isn't common to be playing a multiplication memory game when the regular classrooms play flash card subtraction.

But that's off topic.

My whole point was I think that kind of memory game is really fun! You have to practice both your visual and procedural memory.
