Found a mostly complete Dreamcast (no controller) with some foot pedals that im pretty sure doesnt fit with the dreamcast at goodwill for 10 bucks, also some one left a copy of THPS2 in it.

Got a complete copy of Warsong for sega genesis for a nice price.

Picked up a whole lot of steam games plus extras to trade.

Also found a complete copy of talisman board game for a buck fitty along with AD&D 2nd ed trivia game for the same price.

Bit of an oddity here.... Picked up my first and only game for my Commodore 16: Jack Attack.

Image

For those who aren't familiar, despite the lower number the Commodore 16 was released after the Commodore 64. It was marketed as a less-powerful "budget" computer.

A similar computer was released around the same time called the Plus/4. In Europe another variation was available as well, the Commodore 116.

So apparently the Commodore 16 isn't really known as a gaming platform. Sites like GameFAQs don't even bother to list it. After some surfing around the internet I've deduced that a lot of games are PAL-only, which isn't too shocking. I could only find two BIN C16 games on eBay. I probably paid a bit too much for Jack Attack (more than I paid for the actual computer in fact!), but I wanted to test the hardware out and make sure everything was working.

Only one problem though. The game boots, but I can't play the damn thing - no joystick! You see, I assumed the C16 had a 9-pin port, like most every other Commodore computer (VIC-20, C64, and Amiga). That would enable me to use a stick I already own (Atari 2600 or my third-party C64 stick). Turns out the joystick uses a propriety port connector. I found one stick on eBay, but it's way too pricey - guess I'll search around flea markets and whatnot.

The game looks like lots of fun though!

The only time I've even seen a Plus 4 or 16 was the one my British uncle had when we visited years ago.

Dokuro - Vita (Import)

Just got this in the mail today. I've been spending a lot of time with the North American eshop version of the game and loving it. I'm eleven chapters in already. When I found out that Japan got a physical release I had to have it. Had I known sooner I would have never wasted my money downloading it off the eshop as this game is probably the most import friendly game ever. Most of the story is conveyed non verbally, and just for the heck of it, the game even has an English language option

If you fancy yourself a collector and want to pick this game up at some point, forget the eshop version and just import it. You can find it for a decent price, there's no real language barrier to speak of, and you'll have something for your shelf.

This game does 2D Ico-style gameplay beautifully, highly recommended.

Nice find. You are right, the C16 and Plus/4 were a downgrade of the C64, tailored more towards home office and was a failure. On top of Commodore already having a budget Vic20 computer. Add in the fact that the $699 C64 dropped to below 200 bucks retail. I remember seeing both, never bothered since I had the C64 already. Not making it standard with existing peripherals and killing the SID chip was really a bad move.

There was a joke around Commodore back in the day. The Jack Attack game was named after Jack Tramiel who had a ruthless reputation. You might be able to rig up a 2600 joystick adapter cable. I am pretty sure the C16 took digital sticks, not analog like the Apple, Tandy or IBM compatibles.

Haha I read the same thing while researching the game:

http://plus4world.powweb.com/software/Jack_Attack

Looks like Jack Attack also has a C64 version.

Yup, they removed the ability to use variable paddles it seems, but straight forward on/off like the old sticks. Would be easy to make up a D9 to mini din adapter with the parts.
