the Miku Vita looks great! And I do think the Vita can use more colors.

It's such a shame that Sony didn't do anything for the Vita at E3; it should have at least get a price cut for the consoles and memory card. Yes, Micheal Patcher (love him or hate him) thinks the Vita is dead, and I can understand why.

The Target that I go to mentions it is hard to sell a Vita, considering the hidden cost vs a 3DS. For the price of a Vita Wi-fi by itself, you can have a 3DS with a game or 2 + play your DS games on it.

I have express numerous times that Sony really needs to work hard on selling the Vita, make no mistake, it is a much better hardware than the 3DS, but the price and limited library (with plenty of great games) is hindering its marketability.

Didn't it already get price dropped in Japan? Why not do the same here? Do they really think a Walking Dead Vita bundle will make much of an impact? I was giving them an honest chance but the best they could muster up was God of War HD, indie games, and labeling it as the ultimate PS4 companion? =[

I understand there's good games on the device and even a couple more that are coming. But if they don't exude enough confidence in it than I don't think I can make the leap.

It's cheaper to import from Japan than to buy from the US by a good $25 - $30. Even more difference if you don't have a way to get it tax free in the US. :P

I got my original Vita launch week from Amazon. My current Hatsune Miku one I got from some d00d that lives in Japan.

Personally I think the Vita sucks, mostly because it doesn't really have games. I like the hardware, but the selection just kills it for me. The only games I want at the moment are just Uncharted and Gravity Rush. I will probably get one down the road but until I see games worth owning (not just lazy ports or remakes either, does do not count) and until I see a price drop.

Then you aren't paying attention.

And that's from five months ago...in the time since there's easily been another 15-20 games added to that list, including some very high quality exclusives.

If you read through that thread you'll see more thoughts on the Vita, including a list without games that are also available elsewhere.

Maybe there aren't a lot of games on the system that interest you for some reason, but I find that hard to believe given the breadth and depth of the library at the one year mark. In any case, the issue clearly lies with you and not with the Vita's impressive library.

There's some games to be had there for sure. I know I'd love to play Gravity Rush and the upcoming Ys game some day. The key problem for me and many others is that a lot of the good games are ports or downscaled (in terms of design) console style spinoffs. If I have a PS3, than that takes a huge chunk of the library's appeal out of the equation.

Sony also doesn't really seem to know what to do with the device, or at the very least how to convey it. Plus seems like a great thing for Vita owners as well as indie support but those are hardly what I'd call system selling points. I guess if you're crazy about the Monster Hunter "clones" then Vita is fantastic but I can't say that's me.

Hopefully it does gain a bit of traction because there are a handful of games that really tempt me, just not quite enough. In other news I just bought a PSP. =D

Oh, so it is basically just like a Nintendo handheld? I don't understand this criticism, to be honest. People don't complain that Mario Kart DS is just a "port" of another Mario Kart game, that Super Mario 3D Land is a "downscaled" version of Super Mario Galaxy, that MGS:3D is a "downscaled" version of MGS3, etc. So why claim that Little Big Planet Vita or Wipeout 2048 are "downscaled" versions of those games? It just isn't a reasonable criticism, especially since almost any handheld game in an existing series will be a little less flashy/substantive than its console brethren.

Thus far, the Vita strategy and success is pretty much on par - if not slightly better - than it was with the PSP at this point in its life. If anything, there are more original titles and games to choose from, and a lot more games that can be accessed on it (including a healthy selection of the PSP and PS1 libraries).
