I am headed to one after work today, but if it does not go well, I will be there on Saturday. I am hoping to get some Mario Kart or Mario 3D World in, Zelda would be icing - I have no desire to play Donkey Kong right now.

I'm heading out there with Blu today to check it out at 4 when they start the demos and will be there as long as it takes to get our fill of what is being offered.

I have a lot of questions, especially with Mario Kart 8 and how it handles the ZeroG. Will our views change? How will the controls work? Important questions!

I really also can't wait to try out the Super Mario 3D World. digging the Super Mario Land 2 jump mechanics and am curious to know how the multi-player will effect the level design and how the game is played.

So many questions. I just hope it won't be packed. If so, ahh well, I don't mind the wait!

Just got back from mine. They only had a single TV set up and the line was huge and they were taking names for the queue. I get to play Mario Kart in 3 hours.

I stood around and watched some game play and was impressed. All the games look gorgeous and 4 player Mario looked like some great fun. I'll head back after dinner with my 3DS and hang out to talk Nintendo with some peeps.

Yea. Same here. It wasn't worth waiting to play. But nice to be among fellow gamers.

Was hoping for SMT x FE news at E3 as well. Though, that's more of a Japanese thing, so I guess it's understandable they wouldn't bother revealing it in an American convention.

I was lucky to be able to get a few games in. I got there about a half hour before they started and got in to play Mario Land 3D right at the start with 4 players. I was luigi and his flutter jump took some getting used to. The controls were incredibly tight. I was playing with a sideways Wii Remote and everything felt really good. You shook the wii remote to butt bounce, B was duck and they had the Mario 64 long jump in it. The cat suit was awesome. The feel of it was really responsive and the abilities worked like a charm. I was very impressed with how fluid everything felt. The game was running incredibly smooth and the suction pipes that would move you to other parts of the map were fast and fluid as well.

I thought it was a lot of fun and was very traditional mario mixed with 3D mario. I was happy.

After a while I met up with Blu, who got there a bit late, by the time we were able to sign up for another game, we had to wait a almost three hours to get to it, but we were able to do it (after some douche bags claimed to be us and took our spot).

What can I say about Mario Kart? The controls were tight as always. I felt that the drifting had been tightened up a lot and was really responsive. I used the wii remote as a wheel while Blu used the Pad. What makes this game really interesting is the labyrinthine levels. With the ability to go up the walls and on the ceilings, it opens up a lot of different paths. I never felt the desire to explore a mario kart game like this.

With the 2Player split screen we were running at a perfect 60 frames a second. Just so much fun.

I only got to play those two, but those were the two I NEEDED to play and understand how things worked.

It was a blast...plus, I got a luigi hat and Blu got a Luigi coin.

Yeah, Mario Kart felt very good. I plan on going in Saturday to claim a hat and to play Mario 3D World. I got a flag though!

Honestly, I was a bit surprised. During the Direct I wasn't super enthused by 3D World but seeing it in action it looked like so much fun.

That is the consensus for the WiiU in general I think. Everything looks, ok, but when you have it in your hands it is a completely different experience that is a blast to play.

I was very surprised. Two titles that I thought were pretty average, solid, Nintendo games, turned out to be a lot more different than I expected.

I am torn. I am hyped for another Donkey Kong Country game but knowing Retro passed up a Metroid game to produce it...
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
