Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou is GODLY!

Post by Japhei »

It has been awhile since I played Dodonpachi Dai Ou Jou on the Arcade but seeing the Xbox 360 version this past weekend really got me excited for the game so I busted it out.

Man I forget what a great shmup this is with a excellent soundtrack and old school hard gameplay that I yearn for in all games.

Anyone who has not played this masterpiece make sure to pick it up on PCB, PS2, or Xbox 360 on X-Mas this year.

dodonpachi dai ou jou on the ps2 is perfection personified if only arika had managed to complete the ps2 port of ketsui then that would have been the dogs balls.but if i remember they hit a snag with ketsui on the ps2 and the sickening thing about it was that it was the very last level.if you have the ps2 version of dodonpachi dai...then i dont really see the point in getting the 360 version.
ps2 version is an arcade perfect port anyway.
there was a rumour that the publishers might make this region free for the 360 but thats a big IF.

I just read a interview with 5pb where they said it would be region locked to Japan only.

They are open to liscensing to a publisher for a compilation outside of Japan though.

And Yes the Ps2 Version is arcade perfect and better port. It has Death Label and Arrange modes as well.

We do, you know, cave fans.

However I'm a bit worried by 5pb interviews stating that they have completely taken the slowdown out. Ketsui and DOJ at full speed sound fucking impossible on the 2nd loops.

Yea, why would a company remove the slowdown. If a game slows down on the actual hardware...then that's the way it's meant to be.

I like the idea of Online score ranking. That is reason alone to rebuy the game and compare my socres against others across the world.
