I do think that the Xbox One will probably be hacked in time and it won't really matter. But I would wait till that point, who knows maybe it will be sooner than latter.

Pretty much this. Just make sure you know all the good and bad points of the console and i if you can afford buying 4 nextgen consoles ( ) then give it a go. I don't like your decision but i respect it because in overall microsoft show some good looking games in E3, but i'm more of a late buyer i'm still catchin up with PS3 so having day one consoles is not a must.

I have a feeling that the xbone will be hacked much sooner than the ps4. Maybe in a couple of months.

Buying an xbox one supports an agenda that will likely affect everyone in the future if it succeeds.

Even then though, no reason to call people morons. Apathetic or perhaps ignorant, but it is their business. I hope, as maddened as I am by this mess, that I haven't come across as insulting to anyone. If I have, I apologize.

i'm not the swing demographic that picks a console over another, i pretty much eventually buy every console once there are enough games of interest to me. MS could move entirely to a digital distribution model and i'd still buy it if it had games i cared about.

people "taking a stand" are a vocal minority of dedicated gamers...I think MS' gamble that most buyers won 't care will prove true (as it has time and again).

Don't buy any pre order console from GameStop they are overcharging people because they added extra controller or game. I would prefer buying the console only. I hate when GameStop does console bundlesbefore launch date. GameStop are pretty low. if they try to add any extra on other preorders/ membership/trade/deals/console trades... just say I wish I had a job to to buy more stuff. they will shushs

Exactly.

Sorry I'm an idiot lol.

Guess my love of seeing the next generation complete makes me so. But I've always been that way. I never said I would get them ALL but I do want to ensure I have one at my grasp. I do plan on getting 2 of the ps3s for different rooms. The Xbox I really want just one of to play select Microsoft titles. Hard to believe the love of playing games has come down to such a hatred between groups.

To say preorders have sold out on the Xbox on day one in stores...I wouldn't expect a gripe to keep the console from selling lol
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.

Guess you can call me crazy as well. Pre-ordered a Xbox One and a PS4 at BestBuy yesterday as well as a PS4 on Amazon to spend my remaining reward points. I'm pretty certain my Xbox One will still be my gaming console of choice, as my friends and I have no problems with the DRM things that everyone is complaining about.

Also, I bought two PS4s so I can resell them around Xmas time. As you know, gamers be crazy around them and will probably pay a generous amount extra to have that system if they didn't get it on launch.

I rarely touched my PS3 last generation, and haven't seen any major games for PS4 that are making my palms sweaty yet. That said, I'll stick with what I know and I'm okay with and buy into Xbox One. I have a feeling we'll see better games for both down the line, but as long as my friends are on Xbox, I see no reason to switch.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

This is me. Right now I have both preordered "despite" being well informed about both. I don't care for the xbox one draconian DRM, but I do want to play its games. I don't care that much that I might not be able to down the road...though I believe a hack/modchip/something will enable me to do just that in time. I know what I'm getting into, but when I'm comboing Cinder, shooting in all directions from my crimson dragon, or watching Master Chief make sweet digital love to Cortana, I will be having too much fun to give a shit about DRM or selling/playing the game down the road.

The REAL problem is gamers attacking one another over purchase decisions. FFS, people, why must there be so many haters even on a friendly forum like this?
Well spoken. I don't see why people think DRM for these games are such a show stopper for them. I guess I fall exactly into the niche market that Microsoft is aiming at, as the DVR/Twitch streaming stuff actually seemed awesome to me, along with the Fantasy Football and UFC stuff. I haven't played any real RPGs in a very long time (on the Xbox 360 no less), and aside from RPGs, I haven't played a game that I needed to lend to a friend in a friggin long time.

Any game that is worth its salt for multiplayer merits that your friends have their own copies. If you are that concerned about DRM, the console is not for you, end of story. If you are okay with what the companies announced, good for you, play games and enjoy them.
If you aren't having a good time, why are you playing?

If I offended anybody I apologize but I do make some good points. The point of playing a console is as easy as plugging in and play. No bs, no nothing. I have the disc or cartridge in my hands and all I have to do is insert and play. I don't need to go through all this DRM, checking in online just to play. It's like I'm playing on a watered-down PC without it having the advantage of a PC. That is the point I'm trying to get out. If you are informed and you know what you are getting into, that is fine. But it bothers me because it's telling companies that this is ok to do. Need I remind people:
