As a general rule, I usually look to the Genesis for for sports and shmups. Other platforms are more of a toss up.bryan_65 wrote:Nice list. Thanks for finding that.

Re: Games better on Genesis than SNES?
From what I heard most of the time its a toss up because the Genny plays faster/smoother and has a higher resolution, but a smaller color pallet. The SNES can not process as fast but has a better sound chip, mode 7, and more colors. The problem is that sometimes developers used too many colors mixed with the low resolution the image looked blurry.dsheinem wrote:As a general rule, I usually look to the Genesis for for sports and shmups. Ok, I'll make a master post after work tonight that we can start with. Do you think SEGA-16 would care if we linked to the ones they already did, or should we start from scratch?

Re: Games better on Genesis than SNES?
It's a fairly old post with some of the screenshot links dead now so maybe we should start over with a fresh perspective.
I'm not sure if we should include the games that are totally different like Aladdin which is something they did on the Sega-16 thread.

Prince of Persia was on both systems, but I think the SNES version had a few more levels.
Overall I think the SNES versions were superior, except (like others have mentioned) for the sports games.

I think we should list them and then note beside them that they are different ports, since they have the same name it could cause some confusion.Gunstar Green wrote:It's a fairly old post with some of the screenshot links dead now so maybe we should start over with a fresh perspective.
