Wanting a cut of used game sales is something we've known publishers were after for awhile. Really, that started with games on PS3/360 already with the online passes, so it is really nothing new and more or less to be expected. But the console itself not forcing DRM (or constant online access) does something very important, it sets precedent. Which is great. Microsoft's shady policies don't get to become the norm now. Maybe that will change in the future, but for now, Sony has more or less saved the console market from taking a massive step in the "screw the consumer" direction. At least one more span of non-invasive competent gaming consoles on the market.
Not that that is going to stop the average buyer or random CoD gamer from just buying the new Xbox because they had a 360 and don't want to buy foreign, but it will definitely open the eyes of people that do the research and see how much of a joke Mircosoft's machine is.
Oh I know. It isn't a complaint towards Sony at all, since, like they say it isn't imposed. I would rather have a game publisher be a dick on their own accord than to have a console manufacturer require you to be a dick.

It's worked out favorably for gamers in the past with Sony leaving region locking up to the publishers. So I'd assume it would here too.
I work as a Linux Administrator. There's not a Windows box in this entire building (although we have a test box remotely). There's a group of Linux Admins bickering about the Xbox One. Their conversation is amazing to listen to.
EDIT: My supervisor just flipped his shit. This is awesome.
So the xbox hard drive is 500GB and not removeable? Seems like thats not very much considering that all the games must be completely loaded onto the system and next gen games will probably be 40-50 GB each.

The discs they're stored on might hold that much. As it is, even with much better graphics than their console counterparts, I haven't seen many PC games go over 20gb.
