Need Help!!

I have pokemon sapphire and i decided to do restart. The game worked fine until i got to lillycove, now whenever I go to any of the pokemon centers, I ask nurse joy to heal my pokemon then she takes them, turns like shes about to put them on the little table thing but she never does, the music keeps playing but she never heals my pokemon or gives them back or anything. I tried to google the problem but it doesn't seem like anyone else has encountered the problem. what should I do?
