It is still a lot of fun. It is similar to the original 8-bit Metal Gear games, but ithas some modern gaming conventions that make it a bit more forgiving.

Is Link's Awakening a port or an original game? I was under the impression that it was a port of Zelda 2.

And are the Dragon Warrior games on GBC Japan only? Cause I thought Dragon Warrior was the Japanese name for the series?
Wrong on all points.

Link's Awakening is an excellent, original LoZ game for the GB. Link's Awakening DX is a GBC port of the GB original that adds: (1) color; and (2) a new color-based dungeon. Oracle of Ages and Oracle of seasons are even better LoZ games that - as far as I can tell - use the same engine.

All of the GBC Dragon Quest/Warrior games were released in North America, and Dragon Warrior III (GBC) is my very favorite 8-bit RPG. (Seriously...that game is awesome.)

Finally, Dragon Warrior is the name they originally used for the series in North America. It has always been Dragon Quest in Japan.
Oh dear, lol. Well, I've never played a Dragon Quest/Warrior game, and not much of a fan of Zelda, so forgive my ignorance. xD
I feel old when talking to anyone my age yet too inexperienced to effectively talk to anyone older. Life is grand that way.

Forgiven.

Seriously, though, you should give those games a shot. They are true classics; they are all very accessible; and they might turn you into a DQ and LoZ fan.
